Current preliminary rate maps for DTJC: https://hazards.fema.gov/femaportal/pr ... adServlet?pfiProdId=54077 https://hazards.fema.gov/femaportal/pr ... adServlet?pfiProdId=54079 The chances of a map revision being questioned given the flooding from Sandy and Irene is very remote. Only buildings that are being built above grade will be able to get an elevation certificate excepting them from their location's designation. Law suits being effective in rolling back the chnages are a pipe dream.

I used:
Ben Sheedy THE FIG LEAF INSURANCE AGENCY 21 W. Blancke St. | Linden, NJ 07036 908-862-3447 Pleasant fellow and got the job done. It takes a bit of time and I had to send multiple photos.

Regarding this topic, which seems to have fallen off the radar: what is the current status regarding the FEMA flood-prone designations?? I remember a big uproar regarding the new maps published by FEMA (is that correct?) indicating which properties were now considered to be prone to flooding in given time spans and there was even talk of a lawsuit. Are there now final maps approved and published? If so, what are homeowners seeing now in terms of new flood insurance rates??

I use Borgeson for my one-stop-shop on house/flood-related insurance. Can't say if they are the best agent - but they get the job done hassle-free.

Hi, any of you nice folks have any recommendations from flood insurance for downtown (buying a house in the 100-yr flood plain). Any agent names/contact info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
