The issue was that the sign indicated no parking overnight which would be a hassle even though at 4:18 no PSEG workers had showed up. It was raising an issue not about the availability of parking but whether or not one had to move the car to comply with the sign even though no work was on going.

Fortunately, the signs were wrong as I indicated in another post.

Your words, not mine. No one used the word hysteria, but you just did. If the shoe fits...

I was responding to the sign which in plain English said no parking either side night or day for all week. That would obviously have created reason for hysteria as it would be hard to find parking on this side streets.

My response was to specific to your post, given the time of day, and the availability of parking when you posted. You posted at 4:18 acting as if the parking situation was dire. It was mostly empty on Pacific and on various side streets I happen to be traveling through. So, again, it was much ado about nothing.

The PSEG guys were there this morning. They were very pleasant and informative. According to them- the signs are a mistake. There will be no parking during the daytime, but night time parking will remain.

The project may take several weeks.

Judging by all the cars parked all along Pacific Avenue, I am not sure what it is that you are fretting. I just rode through the avenue, and it is full of cars everywhere from north to south. Also, most of Communipaw is still fairly empty. I understand that people may have concerns about where to park, but your post at 4:18 makes it sound like the neighborhood is teeming with cars and not one spot is available. Nothing could be further from the truth, as most side streets are still fairly empty.

I know we should never assume, but I think you can park and just have to move your car by 9 am.

As if 4:18 no sign of PSE&G. So what do we do- scour for places to put the car in case they show up?

I can only hope this work is the reason Pacific hasn't been repaved so far, it wouldn't have made sense to have utility construction done after repairs/repavement has been done.

They aren't even working on the entire street yet. Also they're gonna leave the street in even worse condition.

There are signs that say no parking all up and down Pacific Avenue from 9:00 am today through Friday because of work to be done by PSE&G. I have never heard of parking being banned night and day for a week. Where will we put our cars?
