I've gotten 5am ubers with about 6-8 minute wait. I was concerned the first time too at that hour, so called a bit earlier than necessary to play it safe. But, it was a breeze, and $19.

I've used it a bunch of times at that hour and they're generally available...but leave yourself a few minutes extra and there's often surge pricing (1.2-2x the regular price) in effect.

I've taken it 3 mornings in the last month. It takes about 6 minutes to get a car and the cost is around $19-22 for UberX. One time at 4:00 AM I mistakenly chose Uber Black and paid $55...a costly error.

I take an Uber every Tuesday morning at 5 AM. Usually a few cars floating around but there was that one time when there was only one car and it took a long time (and had to pay surge price). Really was sweating it!
Anybody want to carpool with me this Tuesday at 5/515?

I have the same concerns so I usually use downtown limo $25+tolls+tip), uber on the return. I would think it is OK though, one way would be to check next Tuesday and Wednesday the number of drivers available at the time you want to leave. I would think that quite a few live in JC and start driving around that time.

Anyone use Uber to get to EWR for early weekday morning flights? I'd like to use it since it's usually cheaper than a car service, but I guess I'm concerned there may not be many drivers milling around at 6 AM on a Thursday. Anyone know from experience?
