In the grand scheme of things, it's probably not as large a waste of money as it seems. Large companies have large budgets and I'm sure thousands of photos were shot that day, and what we are looking at in the catalog is the cut. Others will be used as marketing materials, website images, in-store graphics (possibly) and such. Since the product being sold is the garment and not the location, it only makes sense to the the product as clearly as possible.

What is it to you? It is VERY, VERY common for photo shoots and films to capture way more than they could possibly use, often resulting in major time and expense. It's their choice to do so. Heck, in some movies, entire actors and/or storylines end up on the cutting floor during post-production.

If you get a hold of the Men?s catalog I mentioned below ?the picture of the man and two kids also has a blurred background (pages 52/53) Maybe there will be a film/video commercial . Yes it does seem like a waste.

I can't find that online - the Men's catalog -

Can you take a photo of the catalog and post it?

Hey I was looking over my Lands? End Men Catalog and saw a snowy street scene that looked familiar. Sure enough it is from the DTJC shoot that took place in April. I couldn?t find an online version of the catalog but I did find the old nj.com / jj piece. The one picture in the Men?s catalog is of a man and two kids playing in the snow. It is the girl with the purple coat and the boy with the red coat in the nj.com pictures.

JERSEY CITY -- Spring has sprung, but for today a Downtown street by Hamilton Park was briefly a winter wonderland once more.

I heard that Lands End is just a cover story. It's really the filming of the upcoming live action version of Frozen.

It's a commercial for 'Lands End" clothing complete with some snow.
