I have curly hair and went to Kitty @ Tousled. First visit, good cut/ nice color. Second visit, she literally chopped the sides of my hair giving me a combo of a mullet and Joan Jett 80's jagged shaggy cut when straightened. REALLY great look... Never Again! The owner tried fixing but really, how can you fix a mullet???
From what I've seen during my appointments, Lulu is the goto for an ombr?. She knows what she is doing.

My g/f goes to Tousled as well, and is very happy-because it's not inexpensive I didn't want to mention it earlier, but since someone else has I thought I'd add her two cents.

I am very, very particular about my hair ... and when I moved to JC I went to four different salons downtown before I found the CLEAR winner: Tousled
Lula is a genius at color. Rita, the owner subbed in once when Lula was away and it was seamless. Gianna cuts my hair -- simply brilliant at handling curly hair, whether you wear it curly and crazy (which I do mostly) or blow it out. My color service is $100 -- single process. Worth every penny. I think my cut without blowout is about $70. I don't generally have her blow it out, that's extra I believe. And Gianna is so talented with curly hair I only need to see her 3x a year. Rates above are before tips.

"reasonable" is very relative. Jersey City is cheaper than NYC but more expensive than, say, Bayonne.
I second the recommendation of Xtina at Shampoo. She is a talented colorist. With ombre especially you want someone who knows what they're doing or it goes from looking effortless and naturally to tacky and try-hard real quick...

I love Xtina at Shampoo JC. I think they're pretty reasonable for women's cuts.

Define "reasonably priced." I go to Virile on Jersey Avenue and find them consistently good and the price is doable. They're a bit of a hipster olde tyme barber shop but know their stuff.
A haircut (shampoo comes with) will set you back $40-50 + tip.

I'm looking for suggestions for a reasonably priced salon/stylist ...preferably here in JC / Hoboken but NYC ok, too.
