How many new bike racks are going up in Lincoln Park? Is the County helping out with that?

The bike lanes will be done by the same company currently doing the bike lanes on the street grid under a city contract; I doubt it will be a big deal for them to just add the park loop to their rounds.

Its simply too much money. One million should cover the fountain AND the rest of the improvements. if I had read they budgeted only One Million for the fountain I would STILL insist its too much money. WTF? Who is at the controls on this foolish expenditure?

I have to second the thought below. At first seeing the 7.5 million dollar number for the park I was not too shocked but $6.7 million dollars on a fountain?! That is crazy. Are they making it the Bellagio! There has to be 100 better uses for that money. Is this the first time that portion has been widely reported? Seems that there would have been a major amount of discussion and push back here.

As one of the main residents behind the request for these lanes and traffic pattern change (which should also calm traffic in the park), I am thrilled this is happening. We've been trying to get this for over a year now! Freeholder O'Dea and Demetio Arrencibia, the County Engineer, were great partners in making this happen.

That's a good chunk of change to be spent... I love Lincoln Park. It's only downside is distance from transit. Outside of that, it's fantastic.

The bike lane striping sounds awesome, and it's interesting that they expect it to be done in 45 days. Meanwhile the city can't do shit about stop signs and speed bumps with zero paint.

$6.7m to restore the fountain in Lincoln park? Does that include gold plating the toads and dedicating them to the HC freeholders?
