I hope you sold your shares soon after you bought them, because these shares are worth nothing.

Unfortunately it's totally a story of greed...

Crumbs was public and was de-listed from NASDAQ last week... capitalists pumped money into a fad for short term gains and profit taking... they grew faster than they could handle and didn't expand their product... boom, gone!

The last three paragraphs in this article are pretty telling:
http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2011/01/0 ... y-to-go-public-in-merger/

Favorite part:
The news that Crumbs is going public may provoke skeptics who will say this signifies a cupcake bubble. Many struggling food chains with faddish concepts have expanded too rapidly in recent years, including Cos? and Jamba Juice. But Mr. Bauer dismissed such worries.

?I?ve been in this business for eight years, and we?ve grown it every year,? he said. ?If I had a nickel for every time someone asked me if cupcakes were a fad, I wouldn?t need to do this deal.?

cupcakes!

I put cupcakes in the same group pf 'comfort foods' as pop corn, muffins and fairy floss that you can lose the taste of or get sick of very quickly.

I'm surprised it lasted 10 years

Dear cupcakes, the fact that you cover yourselves up with icing says a lot about your self esteem. sincerely, muffins.

Summer Dawn Hortillosa / The Jersey Journal

Cupcake chain Crumbs abruptly closes all 48 stores, including shop in Hoboken

Crumbs, the national bakery chain with 48 stores in 10 states including a storefront in Hoboken and other parts of New Jersey, is abruptly closing all its stores after major financial woes.

The bakery is calling it quits after over 10 years of serving up gigantic, exotic specialty cupcakes heaped with frosting (their Cupcake of the Month in June was a Girl Scouts Lemon Shortbread-inspired lemon with both vanilla and lemon cream cheese frosting as well as one of the cookies themselves. Talk about packing the calories.)

While the bake shop initially seemed to have it all, with "Sex and the City" and Magnolia Bakery hype fueling cupcake sales around the country, Crumbs has seen sales fall in recent years.

After being delisted by Nasdaq, Crumbs has decided to close all of its stores without notice--even employees were surprised.

?I come into work today, I?m happy, I?m skipping to work, and suddenly I don?t have a job,? employee Kareem Wegman told the Wall Street Journal.

?It?s a real curveball for us,? a manager at the Crumbs in Brooklyn Heights told the New York Post. ?Normally, you get two weeks? notice when you?re closing down ? you don?t get one-day notice.?
