Fine up here, my house sits on a hill and all the water flows down the road to the Morris Canal and so far no power outages. :)

Last time I was at Lowes they had a buy one get one free seed sale. My wife loaded up on flowers and it cost less than $10

The only thing that hurts me is big thunderstorms. I have three sewer lines going into one in front of my building. If you get one of those 2 inches of rain in 20 minutes storms, I have a turd filled lake in front of my place. If it is real bad, the manhole covers get blown away and my drains stop working (basement gets a wee bit flooded). We are still in the same crappy weather pattern (last time I saw this was early 90's) that keeps the CA dry, Alaska warm, and the eastern seaboard cold. What worries me is this pattern also sets us up to send big ass hurricanes rapidly up the coast (talking Cat 2 or god forbid Cat 3 sized storms). I have kept the tropical / warm weather plants (i.e. my fig) inside so far. My tenant put some of her plants outside.. they are dead now.

Heights resident here too. Both my sumps are going overtime!
I was at the Shoprite in Hoboken and saw 2 cars parked nearby that looked like water was already up to the doors.

The city should really do something about the lake on Phillip near the old city car pound. Dangerous situation.

A little off topic here - anyone has flower seeds to give away? I want to start a little mini garden in my apartment, in pots, and is looking for plants that are suitable for apartment growing. Would be glad to take any seeds! TIA.

This is a bad one. I don't recall a non-hurricane where I needed my 2nd pump.
MDM, I haven't even planted my sugar snaps or pepper starts yet, it's been so crappy. I'm also waiting with trepidation to see how bad the die back on the figs is, it's certainly all last years growth. Grapes had a lot too.

I am in the Heights.. 100 ft above sea level. So whatever I flush will end up downtown... maybe in your basement.. at some point.
In seriousness.. I have a spring under my building. My sump has been turning on every three to five minutes. The rain doesn't bother me so much. I just wish we would get some warmer weather. I have been building enough hydroponic equipment to have about 200 plants on my roof. If the current low temp continue, there is no way I will have much in the way of tomatoes or peppers before the fall frost.

Might as well just poop in the basement because that's where it's ending up.

I see a lot of my neighbors sump pumps operating during tonight's heavy rain. How is it looking across JC?
Often wondered why the City doesn't ask people to reduce water usage during storms. The less people flush, the less sewage ends up on the streets and in basements, perhaps.
