It always bothered me that this never gets more than a passing mention. I think it's a way bigger deal than bridgegate:

With the new information about possible motives for closing the ARC tunnel project, it is becoming more and more clear that we have a worse governor than Corzine, and that?s really saying something.
Corzine was inept and corrupt. Christie is malicious, inept, corrupt and acts like the bully. You?d think a guy that is as big a loser as he is in life would have some decorum. Quote:
Are you being serious here? Not a single person wanted to be seen with Christie as he traveled. As for the totals? gee, it?s really hard to get rich Republicans to give money to a group to help Republicans win elections. As for the AP study? just because nobody ended up hurt doesn?t mean that nobody could have been hurt. If I stand outside your house with gun and tell you that if you leave, I will shoot you, the AP study will say that you weren?t hurt. That doesn?t mean you couldn?t have been hurt? Quote:
You?re so full of it here that I can?t even comprehend. The press has been talking about the fake IRS scandal for months upon months now. Obamacare has been headline news for well over a year. Your Benghazi tourettes syndrome is a joke now given how badly you?ve been debunked over and over and over again. You might as well be arguing the earth is flat at this point. Quote:
We don?t live in NY. Nobody cares bout DeBlasio or how he handles things. There is nobody here or in NY that believes DeBlasio will be anything more than a mayor. Thus, why you care is beyond me.

http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/ ... probe.html#incart_m-rpt-1
Port Authority Executive Director Patrick Foye has ordered the agency?s police chief to investigate the role an officer with reported ties to Gov. Chris Christie may have played in September?s George Washington Bridge lane closures in Fort Lee, a source close to the police department said Sunday. The probe will focus on reports that Port Authority Police Lt. Thomas "Chip" Michaels, a 15-year department veteran and member of the GWB unit, chauffeured David Wildstein through clogged Fort Lee streets on Sept. 9, the first of four days of closures, said the source, who was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter. Wildstein is the former Christie-backed Port Authority official who ordered the closure of two of three local-access lanes from Fort Lee to the bridge......

Christie's Other Childhood Friend Gave Tour of Fort Lee Traffic Jam By Margaret Hartmann New York Magazine Feb 16, 2014 After it emerged that former Port Authority official David Wildstein oversaw the George Washington Bridge lane closures, Chris Christie explained that he barely knew his appointee and high school classmate (though they were photographed together during the debacle). Now MSNBC's Steve Kornacki reports that another person Christie grew up with was on the bridge the day the epic traffic jam started.?Lieutenant Thomas "Chip" Michaels, a Port Authority police officer whose family has been friends with Christie's for decades, gave Wildstein a tour of the traffic snarl and texted him about its impact on Fort Lee. Robert Durando, the general manager of the George Washington Bridge, testified in December that Wildstein visited his facility on Sept. 9, then "left the communications desk with a police lieutenant assigned to the George Washington Bridge, to ride around the facility for some period of time to see the impact on traffic." Documents Wildstein submitted to a New Jersey legislative committee show Michaels was that officer. Wildstein emailed Durando, "Going to take a ride with chip and see how it looks." Though his name was redacted, that suggests Michaels was the person Wildstein was simultaneously texting about where to pick him up. "Want me to pik u up? Its fkd up here," Michaels, whose phone does not appear to have autocorrect, texts Wildstein, adding, "I may hav idea to mak ths beter," and, "Local ft lee trafic disaster." Also, the night before the lanes were closed, Michaels emailed his superior to ask if a "new traffic pattern" was going into effect.? There's nothing obviously incriminating in Michaels' texts and emails (it's unclear how he wanted to "mak ths beter,") but they reveal that another person close to Christie had first-hand knowledge of the lane closures long before the governor says he found out about the incident. A 2010 Newark Star-Ledger article described Michaels as part of "a tight circle of friends" Christie formed while growing up in Livingston. "We break his chops a little bit, just saying, ?You?re the governor?,? looking at him laughing," Miuchaels told the paper. "It?s crazy. He grew up like everyone else in New Jersey. So to see him as a celebrity, it?s just really odd. But he?s the same guy. He?s a grounded guy." More: http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/ ... google_editors_picks=true

When you have to get to flaccid insults, folks, you've lost the discussion.
So, after a gazillion emails, texts, and messages have been scrutinized-do we have smoking Christie gun yet? Nope. Have we seen the emails between Menendez and his IRS cheating Dr. Melgen checked out yet by Loretta and Whizzy yet? Or the Star Ledger? When was the last article by the Star Ledger about the current Federal investigation into Senator Menendez? Didn't Corzine and his goumada Carla Katz fight to prevent their pillow talk emails from being made public? When Corzine was the Democratic Governor and Katz the head of a huge union were negotiating contracts? Where were Loretta and Whizzy then? Anyone who thinks that the partisan witch hunt isn't partisan is a fool.

Unbelievable. You give Christie a pass but you rag on Obama for not granting special permission to ship road salt?
So which is it? Is it so catastrophic that Obama should be blamed for or is it nothing that Christie should be pardoned for? You can't have it both ways. And yeah, bringing in DeBlasio to a conversation regarding NJ issues makes total sense.

Dirty? Well, he's a very successful Republican Governor in a blue state, so for many on the looney left he's dirty for being effective. And he scares the crap out of them, hence the demonizing. Now for dirty, can we talk about Senator Menendez? Or Booker, who put Jeff Zucker's 15 year old kid on his internet start up board?? Nah, that doesn't sit well with the Star Ledger editorial board!

Well, the press wasn't as, say, curious about the IRS targeting conservative groups (which Obama later apologized for) or about Obama lying about 'like your doctor, keep your doctor', or about the lying of Susan Rice about the terror attack in Benghazi that the administration tried to say was over a video, as they are about a traffic jam in Ft. Lee.

The politically motivated attacks on Christie are waning, he had a very good week. He raised more money ever in a month for the Republican Governor's group, the silly purported GWB helicopter fly by was proven to be the figment of the looney left's imagination, and AP did a study of all the emergency response logs and found not a single person was injured by the lane shutdowns that he had nothing to do with.

Chris Christie's Entire Career Reeks
It's not just the bridge BY Alec Macgillis New Republic Feb 14, 2014 Has there ever been a political reversal of fortune as rapid and as absolute as the one just experienced by Chris Christie? At warp speed, the governor of New Jersey has gone from the most popular politician in the country to the most embattled; from the Republicans? brightest hope for 2016 to a man with an FBI target on his back. One minute, he was releasing jokey vanity videos starring Alec Baldwin and assorted celebrity pals; the next, he was being ridiculed by his lifelong idol, Bruce Springsteen. Mere weeks ago, Christie was a straight-talking, corruption-busting everyman. Now, he is a liar, a bully, a buffoon. What is remarkable about this meltdown is that it isn?t the result of some deep secret that has been exposed to the world, revealing a previously unimagined side to the candidate. Many of the scandals and mini-scandals and scandals-within-scandals that the national media is salivating over have been in full view for years. Even the now-infamous Bridgegate was percolating for months before it exploded into the first major story of the next presidential race. Case in point: Last year, just before Thanksgiving, I traveled to Trenton to see Bill Baroni, Christie?s top staff appointee at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, get grilled by state legislators about the closure of access lanes to the George Washington Bridge in September. It was clear that something fishy was going on. Baroni gave a command performance, defending the closures as part of a traffic study, but more than that, as a matter of justice. Discussing whether Fort Lee deserved three dedicated lanes during rush hour, Baroni demanded, ?Is this fair?? His voice actually cracked with emotion. ?And if it is not fair, how do you not study it?? But there were only a handful of reporters in the room to witness his melodramatics, and it was six weeks before the national media caught on to the story. Outside New Jersey, at least, it seemed inconceivable that Christie, good-government evangelist, scourge of Soprano State shenanigans, could preside over a piece of payback so outrageous and so petty. Now, of course, we know that there was no traffic study and that the lanes were deliberately shut to punish the mayor of Fort Lee, who had declined to endorse Christie for reelection. (?Is it wrong that I?m smiling,? crowed a Christie aide in a text message, even as congestion got so dire that ambulance workers were forced to respond to an emergency on foot.) We also know that this act of retribution wasn?t an isolated incident: The mayor of Hoboken, to name just one example, has claimed that Christie?s office pressured her to approve a big development project represented by a Christie crony?or risk losing recovery aid for damage caused by Hurricane Sandy.
