We need to know our history so we are not doomed to repeat it!!!

The real damage done by McCann was when he transferred the JC Pension fund's waterfront property from the pension fund itself which was worth approximately 500,000.00 per acre to the JC Revelopement agency, (three weeks after he was voted out of office), and then in the middle of the night sold the 44 acres to Peter Mocco for $10,000.00 per acre or @ $440,000.00. Harold Ruvoldt Sr. was the lawyer of this transaction.

Harold Ruvoldt Jr. was granted the development rights for the "Newport Mall" via the "Glimcher Corp." had all developmental rights for our waterfront development transacted on a single sheet of paper. I was there for the meeting.

One year later Mr. Mocco borrowed approximately $25 million dollars on the same property less than a year later.

Shortly afterward PSE&G bought our congressman's property for the electrical plant on Grand Street for about a million dollars an acre.

These were in good economic times as Reagan gave J.C.$40 million dollars for the development of the waterfront property.

Hopefully in today's difficult market, Fulop can act intelligently as a true businessman and political leader by properly using the city's remaining resources to benefit all the citizen's of J.C. Not just the individuals invited to the "dinner of eight"

"Asked about his accomplishments, Healy cited the land on Routes 1&9 underneath the Pulaski Skyway. Formerly a smoldering dumping ground, the area is now home to a warehouse and park that are under construction."

Even Dan Levin (who ran with Healy) in his video for mayor 4 years ago knew what a bone-headed move it was. The traffic in that area is abysmal and now it just got 10X worse.

So long Jerry!

So appropriate, Jersey City gets A-Holed.

Putting it on a bar stool would be more appropriate.

Healy says goodbye after nine years as Jersey City's mayor

By Terrence T. McDonald/The Jersey Journal
June 28, 2013 at 2:18 PM

Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy, dressed casually in a salmon-colored polo shirt and brown slacks, exited City Hall this afternoon for his last time as mayor.

Healy, 62, carried a bag of personal effects that included the nameplate from the mayor?s office door.

?I?m going to put it over my bed,? cracked Healy, whose term of office ends officially at midnight on Monday.

Healy was first elected Jersey City?s mayor in November 2004, and twice won reelection in huge numbers. His attempt at a fourth term was derailed by Ward E City Councilman Steve Fulop, who becomes mayor on Monday.

During a short interview on his way out, Healy said it's been a productive nine years. And not just for the city.

?When I came in here I had no grandkids. Now I have five,? he said, noting that he a sixth is on the way.

Asked about his accomplishments, Healy cited the land on Routes 1&9 underneath the Pulaski Skyway. Formerly a smoldering dumping ground, the area is now home to a warehouse and park that are under construction.

?That was land that was horrible,? the mayor said. ?Now we?re getting tax dollars, we?re getting jobs and we?re getting a park out of it.?

As for what he won?t miss, Healy said, ?the 24/7s, all heavy lifting.? As mayor, he was constantly going to an event, spending 15 minutes there, going to another event for 15 minutes, and then another, he said, adding that he missed the joy of an extended sit-down dinner with his family.

?Time to re-energize my personal life,? Healy said.
