I have seen 2 people get hit coming at of storefronts on Newark Avenue by bikes now!

I wonder how many similar incidents go unreported though, at least by the press. Jersey City is really a nightmare for cyclists. I commute to the PATH almost every day. I'll never get used to drivers who seemingly intentionally try to come as close as possible just to scare me. I abide by the laws and common sense, the latter taking precedence. There are times I'll ride on the sidewalk (during rush hour on Pacific and Grand) because it's so dangerous in the street.

Maybe there is a cctv / security camera on those streets owned by stores or even in the vicinity that might have caught the gold vw on their tapes to help police with a licence number - They can even check cctv in the Holland tunnel - It will be easy to find a vw with a smashed windscreen, but they can also check cctv footage in and around the Newport Mall and shoprite car park on the day.
It will be interesting to see if the cops are diligent to investigate all the possibilities to catch this hit-run motorist.
