Thinking about switching to Virgin Mobile. I can get a Samsung Galaxy 4G or I Phone 4 for $279. Now the deal is the plans. $45 for 1200 minutes and unlimited messaging and data or $55 for unlimited everything. No contract and same as others keep your #. Any imputs on Virgin Mobile? I have checked their coverage map and it seems good.
Thanks all

Cool. Thanks F.G.D.
Was thinking of getting the iPhone 5 when they finally come out with it but I'll check those Android phones out. Any Radio Shack store you recommend in J.C. or nearby? As R.S. is not know for their customer service. Anyone use V.M. in the Heights? Happy New Year!

Thanks Mado, I was afraid of that. When did this happen to you? Yeah they are cheap (though not that cheap), I guess I'll get what I pay for if I do choose their service. Don't know if living in the Heights will make much of a difference with the Sprint network. I'll do some more research and hopefully someone posts further info.
Thanks again and happy new year.

Yikes. My boyfriend and I are both VM customers and we've had no problems. The reception is way better in our apartment (we live downtown) than it was with my old T-Mobile phone. I did have trouble with the initial activation process though, and I can confirm the phone support is totally useless. But if you buy your phone from Radio Shack or similar you can just walk into a store when you have issues. Would recommend the HTC One V or Evo V 4G, depending on how big a phone you want... There have been great deals on both lately.

Don't do it, I had a nightmare of an experience with them. You get what you pay for with them. The main reason for me switching to Virgin Mobile was because they are cheap.
I live downtown, so I can't comment on their signal in the heights, but frequently on holiday weekends I didn't have any sort of phone or internet coverage. I would spend quite a bit of time getting a hold of their call center (in India) to resolve the problem.. Everything was a 48 hour wait to investigate the problem. One day my phone just stopped working. For almost two months they couldn't figure out if it was my phone or my phone number. I finally went to another carrier.

Does anyone in the Heights use Virgin Mobile as their carrier and if so how's their signal?
Also does anyone have any experience with their Hotspot as their main ISP? Thanks in advance.
