As a registered Republican, I voted for him because with his strong credentials in being AG...he would be much cleaner than Corizine. And for the most part, I do believe he is.

His sham surprise at the recommended PATH/NJTRANSIT increase and then not really doing anything about it. That whole thing was done to make us swallow large increases without getting anything in return...like auditing the PA and stopping the patronage mill. That whole episode turned me off to him.

I think he could have taken a stronger stand against the NYPD spying on citizens. So much for the constitution(you know the law of the land).

If the democrats can come up with a decent candidate, i will not vote for Christie.

TRENTON ? More voters think Gov. Chris Christie is doing a good job even as his prospects for re-election have slipped a bit, a new Rutgers-Eagleton poll shows.

The poll of 788 registered voters found 47 percent gave Christie either an A or B when asked to grade his performance ? up from 45 percent in August. Another 22 percent gave him a C. It?s the highest grade Christie has gotten since Rutgers-Eagleton began asking the question in February 2011.

Because, oh despot, the money, which had already been taken and earmarked for the tunnel went back to the federal government where it was either used elsewhere, placed in accounting limbo or simply not spent at all.

Money ----> spent by fed in NJ to make project that needs many, many hundreds of people working on it and the ancillary needs.

Same money ----> not being spent here in NJ, people forced to find jobs elsewhere (and have other people not get those jobs), or simply be unemployed.

Money for the tunnel had to come from somewhere, right? Government does not CREATE money, it just moves it from one place to another.

So, in order to build a tunnel, the government would have to take money from us, - and pay for the tunnel.

That money we would have spent on some things that we need more than the tunnel.

Maybe if the school districts across the state hadn't been compelled to keep laying off teachers, they wouldn't be looking for employment.

There would be a lot more jobs if there was a tunnel being built right now. But hey, that's the construction union members' fault for not voting in their own best interest. A lot of rank and file voted for Christie, only to see him turn down the federal dollars.

Time for a reality check: Attacking a governor over his ability to create jobs over the short term is silly ? because, truth be told, there?s not much he can do.
Our state rides the wave of the national economy. And before Democrats fire at Christie, they should remember that their jobs records is even worse. From 2001 to 2010, New Jersey experienced a net loss of 156,100 private-sector jobs. Democrats also mostly ignored higher education, cutting funds and failing to make important structural reforms by reorganizing our higher education system, as Christie is doing. That should pay off over the long term.
