I think there needs to be another bust and I think the FBI needs to be involved in it...just say'n

Lots and lots of drugs being sold tonight. With only sitting on my porch for 15 minutes, I counted 5 buyers. I wonder why they don't crack down on them? Or do they?

Thank you Jersey CityNj...Things are starting to get ugly on Rutgers. On Friday there was another police raid as I was informed by one of the neighbors. Another neighbor was sitting on his porch and saw the whole thing. When the raid was over this group confronted the neighbor sitting on his porch and accused him of calling the police and told him to watch his back.

He found puncture wounds on his dogs chest. Not life threatening

Crips...dangerous group. Is this the same group that killed the girl that was found in the NY Bayview Cemetary a couple of yrs. ago? I heard they had a problem with her brother and murdered her. I was also told that this group was caught. Rumor has it that one from this group on Rutgers killed a man aka Pokemon? A couple months back on this same block. He goes by the name of "cuz"...again these are just rumors...

I have observed that when the buyer does the request, one of the dealers takes the money, and another comes back and brings the drug to the buyer.

They are still loitering on the same spots. :/

"Cuz" is a word Crips call each other so with a name like that and being from Rutgers sounds like he is one. I remember the murder from Rutgers it still isn't solved and since people suspect him it is only a matter of time until he gets shot or murdered if the cops don't get him. Which is bad for you because the last thing you need is more shootings.

The graveyard murder 6 years ago isn't either, her brother was a bounty hunter. so I would imagine he had a lot of enemies.

I tried looking up the owner from the tax records of 48 Rutgers and I am not able to access from my computer for some reason to send him a letter. But then maybe that wouldn't be a good idea unless I send an anonymous one!
That house is for sale. He comes by to pick up the rent but there are always dealers around watching and listening to what the residents are doing. So it's not like I can talk to him freely. They still hang out on 50 and 52.

I wish things around here were getting better but they are getting EVEN worse. After my last post, there was some police presence. They came and told the loiterers to stop hanging out and that was good. However, like many other times with the raids, they cease. NOW THEY ARE OUT THERE EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! :/ Starting from 10:00PM til the wee hours of the morning. One night one of them shot a gun in the air, they are still selling weed, crack, and maybe even heroin. Each seller has a different function and different ways of dealing. There are several on the block that are involved, meaning residents and non residents. Last Tuesday a woman came out of a vehicle and slapped the main head dealer right smack in the face several times and said that all he does is sell drugs all day (aka "cuz") and that she knew who he killed and that she has people for him.

:o I hope they don't choose to do it in front of my house!

There are many hard working honest people on this block.
Please send us more help!

Listen to what some of the residents of Brownsville, Brooklyn whose neighborhood was terrorized by gunshots have to say:

Bag checks on mass transit are not the same thing as the NYPD stop and frisk policy. And anyone who has paid the slightest attention to what that policy has failed to accomplish and just exactly how blatantly unconstitutional it is knows that. But nice try at a false equivalency. You might also want to read up on the Fourth Amendment, unless you are too committed to licking the boots of the increasingly militarized police.

Proactive policing means stopping people and asking what they are up to. Some percentage of people stopped will be frisked.

Horrible idea, the majority of the people that get harassed with that aren't criminals but people that police think a criminal should look like.

I agree that more then just weed is being sold on Rutgers. Most of the buyers are extremely skinny.

24/7...The one with the wife beater t blue jeans and black Nike sneakers is the guy that I saw pull out a big plastic shoe box size of weed from his trunk and give to the one with no shirt on back in March The others are possibly playing a part in mix in some way or another, as they are always there...This picture was taken about an hour ago...

The buyer is wearing the striped shirt...usually as in this picture the dealer (s) escort the buyer to the hidden location. This picture was taken about an hour ago.

I?m not pleased about their response to ?quality of life? issues (litter, graffiti, dog waste), but this is effective and meaningful police action.
If they would just have some physical presence on the street (besides construction sites), I?d feel there was a more balanced approach to enforcement.

Construction sites, etc are off-duty jobs. How do you give tickets out for litter & dog waste unless you know who did it? And are willing to make the call & sign the complaint? There is a graffitti removal group but since these 'artists' work at weird hours (like when humans are asleep) it is difficult to catch them.

So the white guys from Hoboken and DTJC ride the light rail to Greenville, get off, buy weed, then ride the light rail back? Weed isn't exactly some exotic drug these days. I'm pretty sure anyone that wants it knows someone that can get it. I seriously doubt people are making this trek to buy a dime bag or two of weed. Unless these "white guys" are 15 years old.

I never said they were buying weed, these guys look like crack heads and heroin/pcp users... no one buys weed 8 x a day. If they are 15 y/o they look like hell. They range from dudes in restaurant gear from mid 20's to late 50's so I assume they work in some restaurant that is not too far away...

Then their are others who are dressed nicely like they work nearby. I assume these dudes are coming from exchange place. I work from home 3x a week and my home faces the lightrail station so I can see quite a bit of the foolishness getting off and on the train and most times Its couples who look like rejects from the jersey shore.

The neighborhood has white residents but most do not take the lightrail that frequently.
We all know who are selling drugs here, and Yes, there are some Greenville residents that participate in the drug buying but lets not be foolish to who else is buying.

Really? my bad.. I guess the parade of white guys parading from the lightrail headed to Ocean ave live in the neighborhood. I guess they are coming back and forth sometimes 8 times in one day to keep fit. forgive me for assuming that they do not live in Greenville.

Im not saying the Hobokenites are not doing drugs, they are just not going to Greenville to get them. They have plenty of other ways to get their drugs with out risking getting shot by some crack head gang banger.

The drug dealers are not making their money off locals alone and it is not a secret. Countless articles over the years in the Jersey Journal have pointed that out and our police department has admitted it countless times. Bayonne residents are the most noticeable because they live so close they can make multiple trips. People from areas as far as Central Jersey come to areas like Jersey City, Paterson, Camden and Newark for drugs and prostitutes all the time. You have your rich high school to college aged kids that take mom and dads money to buy large amounts of drugs for them and their friends. You have your 9-5 suburban addicts that some how manage to hide their addictions and hold a job and appear "normal" (at least for a time). You have your binge addicts that just do a lot of drugs for a few days then go off it until the craving hits them again but in the mean time also appear "normal". Then you have the ones so strung out they are obvious to spot and have hit bottom and become homeless in the cities because at this point their life revolves around getting high and they lost everything.

The out of town buyers for the most part have more money and buy large amounts at one time so they do not have to make as many trips back but their habit is just as bad as the "fiend" down the street that shows up a bunch of times a day. You ever notice many of the worst drug corners in the city are close to easy access in and out? That is part of the reason these corners are so violent, it is prime real estate in the drug world. Ever notice the worst parts of the Hill (Greenville) is the areas not far from the turnpike exit on Bayview? Probably within a area smaller then a 4 by 8 block radius of there has the majority of the busiest drug corners in the city.
