Try Chapel Road after 7PM or Bayonne city line. They have gals and transsexuals out and about till about 5 AM

Some of the prostitutes on Chapel Rd look and dress like any other kid waiting for the bus (there is a bus stop there on Ocean on both sides) and I know of some school girls that have been approached by johns who mistake them for prostitutes while they wait for the bus! :/
Not Good!
I'm sure these are vulnerable young girls who are probably either underage, caught up in a sex slave trafficking ring and were originally being drugged against their will and need some serious help!

Extremely sad. Rutgers Avenue has had it's share of bloodshed. I have for YEARS brought activities taking place to the attention of city hall, ward A councilman Sotolano and the south precinct. Based on his history, I really do not think Epps will be of any use either should he win in the runoff. We have requested cameras on Rutgers Avenue for years. But because it is not in a UEZ zone they refused to work out a way or to put some sort of alternative plan in place and if they did the south precinct I assume did not have enough resources to do so. However, there IS a corner "candy" (and drug?) store on Chapel and Rutgers so I can't comprehend why UEZ regulations couldn't have been changed in that regard. In the end, the pols that have been voted out, the ones that were dragged out in handcuffs due to corruption and the ONE that (THANK YOU!) decided not to run again in city hall are leaving and left (IMO) with blood on their hands as they were too busy stuffing their pockets and served with ulterior motives...GOOD RIDDANCE!
I am hoping Fulop and whoever takes ward A will be up for the task to keep our children and families safe... PLEASE HELP US!
I do in my gut feel that Fulop will and I am hoping he doesn't prove otherwise. The reason I write this is because ward A has been let down for the past several and more so, eight years!

My true and heartfelt condolences go out to this family.

To ward A and the rest of Jersey City, please know that there are hard working law abiding citizens here that DO care. To those looking for drugs, prostitutes or to shoot up our neighborhoods that are killing our children and destroying lives, please know that dontstealmyrocks is jotting down your license plate, recording you and calling it in when I catch you!

Everyone I know is voting for Fulop and so am I.

I'm tired of the crime, the drug dealers (especially on Rutgers Avenue where I live) the streets where I have to dodge pot holes everywhere everyday! I have to make sure that I remind my kids to fasten the seat belts and tell remind them that it's gonna be a bumpy ride! I'm tired of the garbage everywhere!

I was dropping off the hubby to work when I spotted Fulop yesterday morning at the Danforth light rail station. He sure was a sight for sore eyes. I just waved at him from the inside of my car and he walked right up to my car and shook my hand immediately.

Now, who does that?

Lots and lots of drugs being sold tonight. With only sitting on my porch for 15 minutes, I counted 5 buyers. I wonder why they don't crack down on them? Or do they?

I tried looking up the owner from the tax records of 48 Rutgers and I am not able to access from my computer for some reason to send him a letter. But then maybe that wouldn't be a good idea unless I send an anonymous one!
That house is for sale. He comes by to pick up the rent but there are always dealers around watching and listening to what the residents are doing. So it's not like I can talk to him freely. They still hang out on 50 and 52.

I wish things around here were getting better but they are getting EVEN worse. After my last post, there was some police presence. They came and told the loiterers to stop hanging out and that was good. However, like many other times with the raids, they cease. NOW THEY ARE OUT THERE EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! :/ Starting from 10:00PM til the wee hours of the morning. One night one of them shot a gun in the air, they are still selling weed, crack, and maybe even heroin. Each seller has a different function and different ways of dealing. There are several on the block that are involved, meaning residents and non residents. Last Tuesday a woman came out of a vehicle and slapped the main head dealer right smack in the face several times and said that all he does is sell drugs all day (aka "cuz") and that she knew who he killed and that she has people for him.

:o I hope they don't choose to do it in front of my house!

There are many hard working honest people on this block.
Please send us more help!

Thank you Jersey CityNj...Things are starting to get ugly on Rutgers. On Friday there was another police raid as I was informed by one of the neighbors. Another neighbor was sitting on his porch and saw the whole thing. When the raid was over this group confronted the neighbor sitting on his porch and accused him of calling the police and told him to watch his back.

He found puncture wounds on his dogs chest. Not life threatening

Crips...dangerous group. Is this the same group that killed the girl that was found in the NY Bayview Cemetary a couple of yrs. ago? I heard they had a problem with her brother and murdered her. I was also told that this group was caught. Rumor has it that one from this group on Rutgers killed a man aka Pokemon? A couple months back on this same block. He goes by the name of "cuz"...again these are just rumors...

I have observed that when the buyer does the request, one of the dealers takes the money, and another comes back and brings the drug to the buyer.

They are still loitering on the same spots. :/

24/7...The one with the wife beater t blue jeans and black Nike sneakers is the guy that I saw pull out a big plastic shoe box size of weed from his trunk and give to the one with no shirt on back in March The others are possibly playing a part in mix in some way or another, as they are always there...This picture was taken about an hour ago...

The DG'S on Rutgers Avenue are very sophisticated and organized. On Thursday when the raid hit they were texting each other to go to the weed and hide it. Also, if there is an ex-cop (homicide detective who just so happens to be Sam Jefferson's ex brother-in-law) who is one of the customers... he is presently very ill. I think that leaves room for a possible upper hand for the dealers... He's been a customer for yrs...

When the raid left, they were out there until 3:00am not soon after saying, "pull out that weed"...

This problem has been ongoing for years and years and years :/

Tip: plate #U54-BHW GREY Chrysler back in March, driver got out, opened his trunk and pulled out a huge pack of weed and gave it to one of the dealers. I called it in but I didn't have the full plate number but was able to get it a few days later...I called it in.

They hide the weed in three spots sometimes making deliveries on bike.

Three corner houses in he back yard areas:

Corner of Chapel and Rutgers white multi-dueling; the house preceding that yard has a broken wooden fence they come out of that area to awaiting customers whom are mostly older drug users. That multi-dueling is known as the "crack house" as customers go in the hallway as well.

Corner of Sheffield and Rutgers, brown multi-dueling that yard area. Possibly the preceeding yard to that location. Hallway as well sometimes.

2 McAdoo yard area around the garbage cans. In that hallway sometimes...
48, 50 and 52 the hang out to wait for customers also, across the street from the corner store is the other hang out, the corners store, the dealers go in there and sell.

It's heart breaking when you're child tells you that his classmate can't go to his birthday party because the parent tells them that they live in the ghetto where all the drug dealers are and they do not want something to happen to them.

It's a sad day when you lose good neighbors who are tired of all the shootings and move away.

Just tired of going to police captains meetings. I know the police try as arrests are made, but for every 1 or 2 that they take another 5 replace the dealers who are arrested and after one or two yrs. they are back on the streets mixed in the cycle and so after being exposed to the crime element in jail, they come out wose than before they landed there in the first place. They kill each other and it doesn't make sense to me...

Can't afford to move :/ but have been looking daily at real estate. Downtown is just too expensive and Bayonne taxes just too high...my home would be impossible to sell as there are several houses on the block, where the dealers hang out practically 24/7 and any possible buyer would be crazy if they bought anything here.

Another Detroit Michigan in the making...

Re: 9-Year-Old-Girl Fondled in Sears - Newport Mall

We don't mean to be helicopter parents but now a days, we have to. Because really, anything can happen. I know a woman whose 10 yr old son was approached by one of two males in the men's bathroom in the Hudson Mall asking him what school he attended and where the school was (as he had his school uniform on) in a rough loud threatening manner.

This mother said she just had a feeling when they entered the bathroom right after her son did, and kept her ear at the door, opening it a crack a few times just to see if she could hear anything, but when she heard one of the men talking, through the closed door, then heard her son talking, she swung the door open, telling her son to get out of the bathroom.

As she was finding out from her son what one of the men were saying to him, she was about three stores from the long hallway that leads to the mall restrooms, there was a security officer whom she informed. They went to the mall management office (which is right next to the mens room)
where another officer was, so they all went into the mens room.

By that time ten minutes had gone by, but guess what? The men were STILL in the bathroom hanging out!

This was three weeks ago...

Installing surveilance cameras is the best thing. I know someone who caught a some guy (whom he knew )stealing some decorations from his front porch, then found the decorations on the thiefs front porch! He then went and plastered notes all over the outside of crooks house telling his mother (whom he lived with) and neighbors, what a crook he was.

I've seen this darkness in some children and as young as 3 yrs. old.

This only made me want to talk to the child to try to understand and do something, be some sort of role model of some kind, some way. Although I might have had limitations. It's like walking on egg shells.

There is one child for example, when I go onto my front porch, to watch my own children play, I'll pull out my guitar, and musical instruments, and let the other children play music, and have american Idol type shows.

I have seen a change in this one child, of course the mother is sitting on the next stoop, I'll hug the child when I see her.

The other day the child told me that her step-sister said she was stupid, and she said she wished my daughter was her sister.

I told her that what her step sister said was wrong and told her she wasn't stupid! That she was a beautiful girl. I gave her a hug and held her face, and gave her a kiss on her forehead.

The childs face lit up, I'm seeing a different child compared to the child I observed 2 yrs. ago.

There was one kid who stated how much he hated Hannah Montana when he saw my daughter wearing a t-shirt with her face on it, which made my daughter cry. He said if he ever saw her (Hannah Montana) he would kill her!

I tried talking to him, several times and started seeing a change, but his parents moved. Several months later, Marshalls were looking for someone in that family...

If they raised rents then where would I go? Just because I pay a lower rent doesn't mean i'm a bad person. I dont live downtown cause simply put, I cannot afford it. Should Jersey City be only for people who can afford 1200 a month for a studio? I am just curious as to your thought process.

It sounds cruel but it would be an efficient way to ease problems around here. Do you have a better solution?

This is too f*&#ing amazing and the anger I feel is beyond that.
Really? This is the best solution you can come up with?
Let's first of all look at the contributing problems that started this whole mess:

Buildings that have had people living like animals for years, (all the projects) in the city that ignored the poverty sticken low income populace.

And in these started the gangs, drugs, not to mention soldiers returning back from the wars hooked on drugs, cycles that yet should have been broken, but never were.

You have corrupt politicians that took hold of this city, like many other neighboring neighborhoods, that turned a blind eye, just so that they could stuff their pockets.

When they started knocking down the projects you had all these people living throughout Jersey City.
If you ask me, THIS is a solution:

http://www.app.com/article/20100404/G ... s-are-few-and-far-between

And for your information, this isn't an isolated problem:

http://www.timesleader.com/news/Gangs ... activists_03-30-2010.html
No, really. It's not like you don't have people in the community that don't WANT to do something. Wasn't there a young man that addressed the city council at the last meeting, saying that he wanted to do something to help the youth, but was laughed at in his face by Sottolano and Brennan?
