The door hinges are not set correctly so the door will not close properly. Thanks for any repairman suggestions you can provide!

Can you provide more detail on the condition of the door? Rot issues?

I have a brownstone front door that needs repair. Does anyone have a suggestion of a person to use?

Thanks for the help!

Yes, actually my husband and I joke - amidst dealing with the flood - about a metal encasing for our whole house and then we raise a periscope when someone answers the door :)

You'd be advised to go to a submarine supplier. That's what I'm thinking of, a nice waterproof hatch.

You can special order them from the millwork desk at HD or Lowes. (or any other lumber yard). Will take 2-3 weeks to get. (and 2-3 times the cost of the off the shelf ones at times)
Alternatively you can get a standard size one, ideally a solid core wood one and cut it to size. An experienced carpenter should be able to do this. If you go this route the best type is a "Slab Style" wood door. Harder to cut the steel clad ones.

We need to replace our basement door (single family brownstone) and it's not the normal entry size door. It's about 30 X 72 (the one that usually sits behind the iron gates/doors under the front stoop/stairs). I wondered if anyone else who owns here has replaced theirs and where you get one; Lowes/Home Depot seem to only sell normal sized doors.
