love the sensationalism of the article... the odds of it being a "real" grenade are probably less than a zillion to one.
the odds of it being a "grenade" paperweight that could never blow up because it's not an actual grenade... 100%!

The Jersey City Police Department bomb squad turned out at 500 Baldwin Ave. in full force yesterday.
But a grenade discovered in the living room of a first-floor apartment turned out to be a dud. The apartment building, which has been vacant since December, is undergoing renovations and a construction worker spotted the device around 9:45 a.m., police said. The bomb squad along with the K-9 unit arrived by 10:28 a.m., and residents in adjacent buildings were evacuated as a precautionary measure, police said. Members of the bomb squad removed the grenade from the building, located near Waverly Street, and transported it to the Jersey City Police Department Pistol Range, where they discovered it was inert, officials said. Several intersections near the building were temporarily closed. http://www.nj.com/jjournal-news/index ... enade_in_vacant_jers.html
