On Monday I saw a Truchan tow truck towing a Truchan flatbed.

Hate this towing company. Know someone (women) who was there just as they were about to lift, and they said, too late and wouldn't even clarify how to pay right there at a discount, instead was rude and kept lifting. Took advantage of the person. And based on this article, what goes around comes around, pay up!

The victims get nothing. The government gets the cash. Figures.

They should fine them for their horribly dangerous driving habits. I see these guys constantly speeding through our neighborhood streets.

They should have their license to tow revoked and any enforcement towing should be done by the Police or a government department - much like they do in NY

this is the best news i've heard all year! I hope they have to pay it. They should pay much more! Consumers who believe their vehicles have been illegally towed can file a complaint with the DCAby going to www.NJConsumerAffairs.gov, or call ( 800) 242-5846 or (973) 504-6200. Resized Image

Is there any sort of restitution for those who have been illegally towed by one of these companies? I got towed from the Shoprite lot by EZ about a year ago and I knew something was sheisty about the whole ordeal. No visible signage, refusal to take a credit card, and even what appeared to be some sort of inside deal with the cab company that came to pick us up. What a bunch of thugs. I am so paranoid whenever I have to park there now.
