My favs are the crab meat ones... getting them delivery is hit or miss. They occasionally arrive in great shape and sometimes you just have to enjoy the soup at the end.

there's two on Grand Sichuan's menu, plain, and one that says Crab Meat pork soup dumplings. personally i've never been able to tell the difference even though one dish is a dollar more than the other.
you have to eat it there - this is not takeout food

yup, if you go to grand sichuan, i recommend eating them there...
i just got back tonight (typing with a belly full of XLBs) from a place recommended to me from a customer of mine from china. it's called petite soo chow in cliffside park, right off of anderson ave. pretty damn good...same size as grand sichuan, but thinner dumpling skin...

I ordered them from Grand Sichuan but by the time they were delivered all the soup was out of them. I recommend eating them at the restaurant.

Have to cross the river into Chinatown I'm afraid. Finding authentic Chinese food is hard enough in Jersey City, so specialties like soup dumplings is near impossible.
But if any other readers know of a place in JC, I'd love to try it out.
