Painting the grass... higher city taxes will provide better services... you get what you pay for :)

Bravo to the idiot city workers (or contract workers, whoever) who were too lazy to remove the grasses that were over the curb. There are streets we walked by this morning that have painted red grass that was growing over the curb, lift up the grass? Bare, unpainted curb. I'll make sure to pay attention to that hot red crab grass.

I don't really think it belongs within the PD - didn't Fulop make the point that PD officers are paid 2x as much as PA officers? - but it's pretty obvious that the JCPA needs to not be an independent organization outside of the municipal government. CEO and a board of directors and no oversight. F those guys.

JCPD won't bother because they are above that. It's a parking authority job. Another reason that it should be returned to public control and merged with JCPD.

So they finally got around to re-painting curbs red near intersections along most of Jersey Ave today. As I walked the length of the street I was amazed at how many people parked alongside the barely dry paint.

A chimpanzee can paint curbs for 15 feet; the people who park too close to intersections will only change their behavior if they are consistently ticketed.

Please JCPD, do this ticketing. It is free money and easy money for a city that is dangerous to drive/bike/walk and last I checked in a massive deficit situation...
