i missed charrito's as well. i did go a few times. guess i should have gone more....
great place. btw, i really like the new Grille Two74.

Sounds like another Tommy's...?
I second the post above: Cinco de Mayo (also on Central) has really good food. Better than Charrito's, I think, even if they're not wearing cutesy folk costumes and making the guacamole tableside with a big stone mortar and pestle. (I can do without all that.)

There are two Charrito's locations in Hoboken. Why not go there? Although I think the prices are a little more expensive. We went to the ones in Hoboken before they opened in the Heights.

I miss Charrito's...they had some of the best Mex food I ever ate. Unfortunately they ran off and did not pay bills, or something strange like that. This past weekend celebrated the opening of the skankiest, filthiest diner I have ever seen outside of the Bowery on the LES (and I used to live there so I know of what I am referring to). To boot, there were 6 or 7 homeless-appearing ppl waiting for the place to open for breakfast at 7AM on a Sunday morning. Curious as I am I walked in and found the place rank, stank, dark, and the same counters, tables, and probably kitchen appliances that Charritos left were being used in this new place. Avoid at all costs. And no, I did not eat here...it smelled like a sewer backed up in there...so I turned and left.
