All I'm suggesting is that, for me personally, the relative cost of water, even with the increase, is negligible relative to other monthly outgoing costs, including something as mundane as bottled water (which is often your tap water), which I've now cut from my expenses.
Not to sound like pollyanna, but given the number of people who don't have access to a municipal water supply service in the world, the extra few dollars going to United Water isn't something I'm going to be bothered by. Or if the increase for you is not negligible, invest in a refillable bottle, use a Brita filter, and every time you refill, drop a buck on your counter. I'm sure the savings will more than make up for the increase. But that's just my 2 cents.

Before we pick on JC's municipal water supply, you may want to check out the movie Tapped, which goes into what a crime the bottled water industry is. I'd gladly pay a few more dollars to United Water than contribute to the Poland Springs/Pepsi/Coke shenanigans of bottled water.

If NJ property tax increases are capped at 2%, don't see why United Water should be allowed to increase bills more than 2%/year.

Just got the "cost of living" increase. Be nice to get a cost of living decrease, as most private sector folks are making less and many are out of work.
