While I sort of feel bad for you for getting a ticket, that was actually your own fault. Five Guys will validate your parking ticket. The same goes for Uno. I am not sure about MMG, as I haven't asked. I know they both validate parking because I have called their numbers in the past to inquire and have actually made use of the perk in the past. In fact, I think I recall that the Five Guys validation is for something like 2 or 4 hours. If you are downtown on business, you could get "free parking" by buying a drink at Five Guys and getting your ticket validated.

Still, I do agree that parking in that area can be tough.

I did a phone order just to check out the joint for the first time... I did not know they validate parking..

Still, the city needs to allows residents a grace period when it comes to parking downtown.

Seriously, if you want to stop by Uno or any of the joints in that area, you have to get a monthly permit.. I already have a valid zone permit and I'm not there to hog up the place from all those NY plates...

People of this City should be allowed to park anywhere for a reasonable period of time.. Even one hour would be grateful.

There is too much reserved parking downtown. Installing meters would allow the locals to actually visit the small businesses like the those restaurants at Washington and CC.

I know I have mentioned this but has anyone else noticed that JCPA "overlooks" the cars that the daily parking lots put on the street. I'm specifically talking about the lots on Warren btwn Morgan and 1st.

The only parking lots along Warren St. are between Morgan and Steuben Streets.
JCPA Reserved Parking ON Warren St. from Montgomery to Morgan Streets.
Zone 4 Parking on Warren St. from Morgan to First Streets BUT JCPA is very slack enforcing non-permit vehicles (commuters) and ticketing those who park over two hours. Zone I also parks in this area during the day, apparently they can park anywhere downtown they want.

I don't THINK the parking lot moves their excess cars onto the street - but I'm not monitoring a parking attendants daily movements.

There is too much reserved parking downtown. Installing meters would allow the locals to actually visit the small businesses like the those restaurants at Washington and CC.

Not only does JCPA make money off the commuters who pay monthly so they can hog up those parking spaces all day (not spending money - but sitting in offices or taking PATH into city) the ticket writers loiter like the the tow trucks at BJs - waiting for an unsuspecting car to fall into their trap when they come for a quick visit into the area - they collect even more $$ on the tickets and booting. Seems like quite a business plan.

Give the street parking back to the public!! No more privatized parking for commuters - send them to the parking garages!

Every night at 6:30 you can see 2 or 3 cop cars parked there. Somtimes even double parked. They eat at the Muscle maker to strengthen the egos.

This is a permit parking area and probably the jewel of JC for parking fines. Surprisingly people still park there every day. There have been times when I saw 3 parking authority vehicles on the same block here. It's just endless ticketing and booting.

Is it zoned parking or permit parking. I believe zoned parking means if you don't have any tickets then no boot should be installed. Not sure if they check zoning records though. But I bet if you park in a permit area then yes they probably can boot you.

yeah you can't park there during the day without the pass. they always give a ticket and boot. same on a bunch of surrounding streets. i've seen someone put their blinkers on and run upstairs with groceries and get booted. they're brutal....

If you got booted in Downtown where you're required the $125 pass and you park for 10 mins, are they allowed to boot you if you Have no outstanding tickets?

Specifically Columbus Drive, between Washington & Warren..

Is this a immediate boot zone?
