River rat! Thank you! Thank you for saying something about this incident. I was right near him when he fell. It was one of the most traumatic things I've seen. I have been searching for days for any kind of news about what happened. I can't believe there is Nothing about this poor man or the brave people that got him up to the platform. Have you heard anything at all about him?

If you carry a small flashlight / LED keychain light with you, always remember that the universal emergency signal to stop a train is to swing your light back and forth in front of you, left right left right and so on until the train operator sees you and applies the brakes. This applies on any rail system.

I was coming up the stairs at 23rd when the police and parametics arrived, it was pretty intense. I think 3 out of the 5 people who helped him stayed with the guy while he was being worked on, that speaks volumes to me of what kind of awesome folks helped him. I'm sure they had family or plans to get home to but they stayed with him. Whoever you kind magnificent people were, you made my day and gave me hope. Rock on.

Oh dear Jesus,
How lucky for everyone involved that nobody was electrocuted or smashed to smithereens. Was the station broiling hot? (I did the WTC trains today.)

On my ride home tonight, while waiting for the train at 23rd St, a man fell into the tracks, due to some sort of seizure, and within seconds there were 3 to 5 people lifting him to the platform and out of the way of an incoming train. The train waited, and several people attended him, and within 2 minutes police and medics were there. It was inspiring, and I thank all of you.
