Re: Paint Disposal, according to the incinerator authority:

"Oil Based Paint must be dropped off at the JCIA Drop off Mon. - Fri. 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the JCIA Main Office (501 Route 440). Proof of residency is required.

Latex Based Paint cans (once rinsed out and covers are taken off) can be placed at the curb with regular garbage; no longer needs to be drop off at our site."

How do you get rid of old paint cans?

Latex paint (if dry) goes into regular trash.
Oil base paints are collected several times a year by JCIA.

Join freecycle - somebody will come and take it and it won't end up in land fill.

You may put the futon out on the curb on the same evenings that garbage is collected in your neighborhood.

I would recommend putting it out on a day when it's not raining because if it's in good condition, someone may take it. Once it's wet, it doesn't stand much of a chance of finding a new home.

I'm not sure but I had the impression that some Salvation Army stores will pick up furniture that is in good condition. Somebody else may know whether or not the store on 14th Street picks up or not. Or call them at 201-653-3071.

I have a futon that I need to get rid of. Is there someone I should call at the city to set up a pickup? of can I just put it out with the regular trash? I have noticed on on of our regular trash pickup days people tend to put out larger items, not futons, more like tables and chairs. Thanks.
