OK, here's a map from where they go from Newport up towards North Bergen, Union City, Edgewater, etc.
From Newport down Marin to Newark. Left on Pavonia just before you hit Dickinson H.S. up towards Journal Sq. Across Summit and back down Newark to Dickinson, then up north along Palisade.

whenever I take one, I just ask the driver if it's going to the destination I want to reach.

How do you know where they are going to turn when they go up Newark Ave?

you can usually catch one across from shop rite on marin around 6th st.

I have only seen them on major streets like Newark Ave/Marin/Columbus. Don't recall ever seeing them on numbered streets or the cross streets. I have taken them from Grove to Maloneys near the courthouse and Bergenline Ave and they always run up Newark Ave. Try walking over to there I guess. Sorry my reply wasn't more helpful.

I have heard that there are "dollar vans" that can take you to the PATH. I live on 7th and want to know if anyone has experience with these... Thanks!!
