I agree 100%
Every single morning I walk to the train all I smell is dog piss... it's just disgusting. That coupled with the insane amount of littering in the neighborhood really lowers the quality of life. Sure, it's convenient, but to walk through dog crap/piss and garbage is unacceptable.

I live on 7th b/t Monmouth and Brunswick with my wife and 2 kids. Albeit the Music Box is not the finest establishment in JC, it is harmless. Sure there are folks who drink there and may be slightly more edgy than the White Star, they are harmless. I moved in in April and walk past there nearly every evening with wife / kids (wife and kids alone many times as well) and we have never had any problems at all.
Do not look for problems there and you should be fine. For the record, I am closed to Brunswick adn only passy by... not so sure I would like to live too close b/c of noise, but then again, from what I have seen... no worse than any other bar. I was a little worried at first about it too, but those worries were over done it seems. Hope this helps...

Terrible... I have a wife and 2 kids.
I don't mind a bar nearby, we live in Brooklyn Heights now and are quite used to such things... just hope that she will be fine during the day by herself w. the kids...

Great! I am moving to 7th near the Pizzeria on May 1!
Hope that this is a one off and not the norm. I did have some worries about the bar near 7th and Monmouth...

Hey,
I am new to the forum and am quite glad I found it. I will be moving to 7th street near Hamilton Park on May 1st and an happy to hear that it should be opening near that date. Is it still on track to open by mid May? I have two kids, one is 6 and one is 6 months. Aside from the park, does anyone have any good suggestions of places or activities in the neighborhood for a family? Any ideas are appreciated. I am from downtown Brooklyn anbd am moving ot JC to be closer to my parents.
