Another enthusiastic thumbs up for Marco & Pepe! The wife and I have had dinner there on several occasions and it has always been great. Their mac and cheese is sinfully decadent and a great side dish or appetizer. The lobster roll is awesome, and the duck dishes are really top notch. All this talking about M&P has made me hungry for more. I guess we will be going back this weekend...

The crab bisque is delicious. It's not really a bisque -- more of a tomato based chowder. Despite the misnaming, it's worth ordering.

I've been living here for only a month and have gone to brunch at M&P's twice. I love it, I have tried 4 items and all have been excellent! i am looking forward to dinner in the near future.

Service can be a little hit or miss (although more hit than miss, in my experience) but I have never had a bad meal there. Usually I've had great meals and we go there fairly often.

I love the ambience there, but unfortunately I've never had a good dinner there. Brunch is ok, but I always find that the food there is completely underseasoned and overpriced for what they offer. And the service sort of blows.

No argument here: M&P is hands-down the best experience in JC and, speaking as a former East Village resident, far superior to any of my former haunts east of the Hudson.

My wife and I have been going every ~2 weeks for close to three years and have not once had anything short of a superlative experience. Best food in JC, not to mention best staff by far - no offense to other places, but M&P's people set a standard when it comes to the rare combination of friendly + professional + smart.

Every time I've eaten at M&P, I've been very pleased. And I LOVE the atmosphere there.

What a great meal I had there on Sunday night. Started with the arugula salad and then had one of the grilled flatbreads with goat cheese, portobello mushrooms and spinach. The other three at our table were equally pleased.

I was there the night this restaurant opened way back when. It's gone through lots of changes, lots of chefs -- and I think it's better than ever. Not a newbie, not a shill. Just wanted to express an opinion because I'm still thinking about how good that food was.

(Okay, now everyone can pile on about how awful their last meal was, the service stinks (which it didn't), etc. etc.)
