Oh Nooooo! The Florida strawberries are so delicious! I was psyched when I saw them in Shoprite for a good price last week. My kids are going to be heartbroken.

You better hurry the supply and demand is reversing (JIT) The crop is freezing and the price will surely go up. Maybe California is an option.

FYI Lee Sims does not make chocolate covered strawberries during Christmas. I went there and then made a trip to Hoboken and got them.

With all the time I spent driving around I definetly would have had time to make them. Lesson learned :)

Thanks all...

Any recs for local shop that sells good chocolate for dipping? Or a good brand? Thinking of getting a fondue or chocolate fountain for my sister (whose house is where we usually have our family holiday get-togethers anyway).

Lee Simms is great. It's on Bergen Avenue. You can walk there from the Jr. Square PATH if you don't have a car.

goto the godiva store in newport mall, they have exactly that - fresh made chocolate covered strawberries. You can even get a membership if you buy often.

Lee Sims for sure -- support a JC institution of 50+ years. 743 Bergen Avenue, about a 10 min walk from the JSQ path train.
