The Deer is alive and well!
He was rescued off governor's island after spending 3 hours in frigid waters. This is truly a miracle.

Deer leaps into Hudson River after it's spotted in Downtown Jersey City
By Ron Zeitlinger/The Jersey Journal December 01, 2009, 12:19PM Jersey City police and the New York Police Department Harbor Patrol are searching the waters near Exchange Place in Jersey City for a deer -- that's right, a deer -- swimming in the Hudson River. Jersey City Police spokesman Lt. Edgar Martinez said the Jersey City Fire Department's boat would be joining the search. Martinez said witnesses who saw the animal said it was a buck with a 10-point rack. City Animal Control Office Rich Lorenzi said the first call Animal Control received today was from a resident who spotted the deer at Brunswick and First Street today. Lorenzi said two weeks ago deer were spotted at the Tonnelle Circle, the other side of the city. A resident who lives near Third and Merseles streets said he spotted the deer today as well and saw one a couple months ago in the same area. Hudson Now wants your Hudson County deer photos.
