Fulop not only cares about the process but he's smart because by taking the stance he has on the towers, he will win over people in that demographic of the city. Couple that with what surely will be a landslide for him downtown and he'll be the next Mayor! Go Fulop!

I don't really care if someone bribes every member of the city council to tear down Montgomery Gardens and replace it with an open sewer. That place needs to go, and it's hard to think of anything that would replace that wouldn't be a major improvement. How long ago did Chicago tear down Cabrini Green and we're still having to put up with the exact same nonsense here?

Which developers are tied to "city hall" and not to Councilman Fulop?

Thank God we've got Steve Fulop working so hard to keep this place up and running. Keep up the good work, jackass!

Man's name cleared after suspect steals it

Friday, November 28, 2008
By MICHAELANGELO CONTE
JOURNAL STAFF WRITER

A Jersey City woman was shocked to see her brother's name in a Jersey Journal story about a drug bust, but she didn't doubt him for a moment and a trip to the police station revealed the arrested man had given a false name, officials said.

"A guy came to me at work with the newspaper and said 'Is this guy kin to you?'" said Vernice Frazier of Tuesday's article, which incorrectly said her brother, Jerome Frazier, 22, was arrested Monday. "When I called him he was in the house sleeping. I said 'We are going to the police station.'"

Police have confirmed that the man actually arrested at 2:30 a.m. Monday in the Montgomery Gardens housing complex was Leonard J. Felder, 22, of Union and Clark streets. Felder was charged with weapons offenses, drug distribution charges, and will now also be charged with unsworn falsification, officials said.

In a statement police told The Jersey Journal on Tuesday that "fingerprints confirmed that Jerome Frazier was not arrested by the Jersey City Police Department on November 24, 2008 or any other time."

On Monday police got word an armed man was dealing drugs in Building 3 at the complex, reports said, adding that when they approached, a man fitting Felder's description bolted back inside, but was grabbed by cops stationed at a back door. As he ran, Felder tossed a gun and 33 bags of suspected heroin, reports said.

Jerome Fraizer, 22, of Union Street, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. and charged with weapons offenses, resisting arrest and numerous drug charges including drug possession with intent to distribute near a school and public property, reports said.

Officers on patrol at Montgomery and Center streets were flagged down by a man who said an armed man was dealing drugs in Building 3, reports said.

When officers approached the building, a man fitting Fraizer's description bolted back inside when he saw police, but was grabbed by cops stationed at a back door, reports said.

As he was running from police, Fraizer tossed a loaded revolver and 33 cellophane bags containing suspected heroin, reports said.

Police also found there were two warrants for Fraizer's arrest for failing to appear at court hearings, reports said.
