It really depends on how much you want to charge for the place. A full ovenb would get you more rent for sure.

Absolutely go for the full oven/range. I think most people would look at the other set up as sort of like an efficiency almost.

We're preparing to rent our 1 bdrm. When we lived in the unit we realized that our need for kitchen storage exceeded our need to cook in the oven (almost never). So we bought a good quality 4-ring gas cooker and a big countertop oven which was a great arrangement.

Now that we're preparing to rent the place we're trying to figure out whether its a turnoff not to have an integrated stove/oven. Or is it ok to keep the countertop oven and gas rings?

Thanks for your opinion.

A countertop oven? You mean like a toaster oven? Or is there some other kind?

Can you cook a chicken in it? A turkey? Does a full-size frozen pizza fit in it? How about a smaller (plate-sized) frozen pizza. What about broiling?

Some people who never cook at all might not even care about those things. But to me those are the immediate concerns.

I think a basic cheapy stove/oven combo will pay dividends for the <$500 it costs. What you have is too reminischent of a "hot plate joint" which seems to scream out CHEAP!
