If it's really old (like, 75+ years), I doubt there's anyone nearby that has the expertise. If it's something that old there's a guy in Portland I like

Try David at Jemma Loan, corner of Newark and Jersey Ave. Very nice, very honest, very reasonable.

Is there a place in JC that does repairs? It's very minor, I think. Thank you.

I agree Jemma Loan is great. David is a watch fan and is very fair with pricing. He has repaired 2 watches of mine and did a great job. He never tries to rob you. If he can do it at a lower cost,he will do it. That's what brings you back.

David rocks! I got two new watch batteries and a new strap for $19. And it took all of 5 minutes.

I stopped by to see the watch guy (David) today at Jemma Loan to get some batteries and a watch repaired.

They're open until 6:30 pm during weekdays, but they close early on Saturdays (3:00 pm). I'll go back again during the week.

Thanks for the watch repair tip.

The watch guy in Jemma Loan (the pawnshop) at Jersey & Newark is excellent. I think his name is David. Even though he's in the pawn shop, he's a separate business. He does a phenomenal job. My husband has had many watches repaired by him. He has great antique watches as well.
