I bet you these criminals have done this before, and I just wonder when there is going to be mandatory life sentences for people who do stuff like this.

Subject: home invasion in Hamilton Park neighborhood

Neighbors,
Late last night after midnight a neighbor on 10th Street was the victim of a home invasion. The actors broke through her front door, woke her from sleep and robbed her in front of her children. The only description I was given is that the actors were two african american males driving a black SUV. In a possibly related incident, two men matching this same description knocked on the door of a Coles Street home soliciting charitable contributions around 11pm.
If you have any information that may help in this case, please contact Detective Robert Vogt at 201-547-5066 or email policeeast@jcnj.org. Please CC the Downtown Neighborhood Watch at downtownjcwatch@gmail.com in your correspondence.
Remember to lock all doors and windows and set your home security systems. Do not open your door if you are not expecting someone and have not verified their identity. If you see any suspicious activity, you can report it to the police via the non-emergency line at 201-547-5477. Give a detailed description of what you are witnessing and the dispatch officer will prioritize accordingly.Of course, in an emergency always dial 911.
Be safe.

That's terrible. Coles & Monmouth run parallel to each other. Do you know the numbered cross street?

Home away from home

Our friends were victims of a violent home invasion last night in the Coles & Monmouth area. The robbers kicked the door in to the home, attacked and brutally beat our friend, a mother of two, and attempted to attack her young daughter. The house was ransacked.
Police are investigating.
