Greenville: Shot up in car
Wednesday, October 03, 2007 Jersey Journal A Jersey City man was shot several times while in his parked car in Greenville yesterday and he made it into a nearby bar where responding officers found him, officials said. At 2 a.m., the 34-year-old Grand Street man left the Candlelite Bar at Gates and Ocean avenues and got into his car, where he immediately noticed motion in his side mirror, police reports said. He said a man ran up and began shooting at him, striking him once in the left side, once in his left thigh and once in his right buttock, reports said. The victim made it back into the bar, and when police found him he was rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center and into surgery for his possibly life-threatening wounds, reports said. He was able to give police the street names of several possible suspects, reports said. Medical Center spokesman John McKeegan said last night that the victim is listed in stable condition.
