i also will be using the light rail to come home from new jersey city university with a bike over the summer... i will be getting out of class around 8 or 9pm, so i assume those are good hours to be able to bring the bike on....during the day i'll just ride from the heights to the school but at night, i'd rather keep my bike and my wallet somewhat safe.

if you could ride your bike on the light rail it would be sick.

I understand why you can't bring a bike on the light rail, PATH or ferry at rush hour, but that really hurts people who need a bike once they get to Manhattan, or to jobs in downtown Jersey City.

Solution: set up some kind of well-monitored paid bike parking places by Exchange Place and by the WTC PATH station. Maybe establish a bike replacement program so that, if people's bikes are stolen from storage, they can get free temporary loaner bikes and cheap replacement bikes.

As a paying customer of the light rail, that rides it during those hours I wouldn't even think of bringing it on board. You be ok after 9am and after 6:30ish or 7 and before 4pm

if its a folding bike you'll have no problems. if it isn't, you'll get a poke in the eye - the LR is quite crowded during those times.

I was wondering what the bike policy of the Light Rail is like. On the website it says that bikes are not allowed during commuter hours, but do they enforce this.

I ask because I am not familiar with the LR, and have no idea what the crowd is like in the mornings.
Hypothetically, I would be getting on the train at around 7:30 am... and returning around 4 pm. Would I be able to bring a bike aboard? Thanks
