Just be careful with the cheapest bid - quality of workmanship and raw materials is just as important.

Often times the cheapest bid will increase the bid just because of this reason.

Caniker,
I'm in the process of renovating my duplex and constructing addition. May I ask you who the three contractors were? I have two in mind but need another to send out RFP. If anyone else has recommendation, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Young

Shame on that realtor.....Everything is Negotiable...

Problem is, it's all predicated on timing and the area that your looking to build in.

Keep in mind all contractors will attempt to make the most from your new build or renovation, just have to find the one who will take the least......

I had bid out from 3 seperate contractors on a major addition that was just completed 6 months ago, all 3 contractors were provided with the same specs/drawings,would you believe all 3 had submitted bids
from $20-$30,000 difference????

Just do you homework before you enter into an agreement and good Luck...

Just curious - are the prices quoted on new construction condos negotiable? Anyone have experience (rather than hearsay) with this? While looking at a country house I was advised by the Realtor that new construction prices were not negotiable (Western Mass.) wonder if that holds true here too.
