I imagine that it was done in order to make the entrance to the Mack-Cali building's garage as convenient as possible. All right turns from Eastbound Columbus.
Maybe someone else has been around long enough to remember.

Then you have Washington which is two way for a while, then one way for a couple of blocks, then two-way again.

Same with Warren street which is two way for a while, then one way, then closed off sometimes but not all the times one way, then two way again for a couple of more blocks before dead ending to the grocery store.

Then Van Vorst. One way for two blocks, then two ways for two blocks, then one way again for another block.

two way two way two way ...psych it's one way...haha just kidding it's two way again. god forbid you aren't intimately familiar with these streets or you are screwed.

Best I can figure is that they do not want people making turns onto Marin from Wayne. That would add to the mess that Marin is already.

this. it's really not all that uncommon to have one-way streets that head towards each other.

I imagine the main reason is if it went all the way to Marin, a lot of people would try to make left turns (even with a right-turn only sign), which would be extremely dangerous at that curve.

in nativity scenes, the baby jesus is usually not placed out until after christmas. im not sure if city hall follows this tradition, or if it the statue was in fact stolen.

Who stole Jesus from the nativity scene in front of City Hall?

There are two little goats, two wise men (no sign of the third), a kneeling lady, a manger and lots of straw. But no baby Jesus!

Robin.

Why is Wayne Street a one way street going eastbound until Grove Street ... and then a westbound one way to the east of Grove Street.

Who thought that was a clever idea?
