Yes the building was sold and the liquor licence is held by the new owners. The food is inspired by Trinidad. The owners are a couple (not sure if they are married) The female is from Trinidad who is does the menu and her mate is from Ireland (hence all the Irish whiskey). They should do well even though we now have 2 other restaurants in the area Oak on Pine (American Bistro) and Pinwheel Garden (Asian Fusion) they are the only ones with a liquor licence.

Harry?s Daughter If the swinging lounge chairs and an in-house coconut cart don?t catch your eye, dishes like Jerk Chicken Nachos and Piri-Piri Style Shrimp are bound to lure you in. Located at 339 Communipaw Avenue (in the former MAE space), Harry?s Daughter is currently in soft open mode. http://www.jerseycityupfront.com/the- ... mode-in-bergen-lafayette/

The building / liquor license was sold in August 2016, so presumably (and hopefully) not.

Is the crazy owner, who scupperred previous attempts to build something at this location, still involved?
Robin.

This place is the old Modern American Eatery spot As of now its cash only, they are not fully up and running to accept credit cards. . The small menu that they do offer is delicious. The owners are locals who live in the area. food is fresh, spicy and well priced. I look forward to trying their full menu which should be available any day now. I wish you guys the best of luck and I will see you again real soon.
