I tuned in tonight. 91.1 FM. Tbh...needs to learn how to be relevant to listeners. Put me to sleep.

It's freeform, so not every DJ will appeal to every listener. Frankly, you can't get a good impression of the programming by listening just one night.

I don't think ANYONE would be surprised by that statement. That's the story of JC and new businesses. How sad that nothing has changed. I thought Fulop had said during his campaign that the Building Department would be overhauled to attract more entrepreneurs. What happened?

The mayor spoke on the air last night during their call in fundraiser. He supports the station and stated he listens to it. Let's hope this helps.
We'll they're open now, so not much help needed at this point.

It's a great spot. The capacity isn't all that high, unfortunately. I went to Pay Byrne's prove it all night a little while ago and a bunch of people had to stand. Which isn't a bad thing, it's great to see that they're drawing a good crowd. It's really exciting to finally start getting some venues in JC.

I tried listening to that station once but only got static and figured I had bad reception. It turned out the static was the "song" they were playing.

Basic Channel I'll bet.

The Last Day of Jersey City's 2015 WFMU Marathon

WFMU is the world's finest freeform radio station, listened to by people around the world on its multiple internet streams, and that the amazing variety of expertly-curated music and other programming is only possible thanks to the support of donors?

The two-week WFMU Fundraising Marathon, going on now, is the only time the station interrupts its programming to ask for money - but in magical WFMU fashion, rather than being something to avoid, the Marathon is actually a really fun and interesting time filled with an amazing volume of special prizes for pledgers and the occasional jaw-dropping stunt.

Read up on and listen to WFMU:

Regular shows happening at Monty Hall! This venue opened up with the help of all the donations sent their way - keep the music and entertainment alive! Donate today, the last day of the marathon!

They're next to the main branch of the Post Office, on Montgomery Blvd. They've been working on opening for a long time, but have had issues with the Buildings Department. Ken and everyone else at WFMU are awesome people, I'm very excited to see this open officially.

They did a live broadcast there not too long ago. It's a great venue! The carpeting really helps the sound (and the knees of their older demographic), but I'm not sure how long that will hold up in a place that serves beer.

Ah OK, so I guess there won't be a regularly opened bar/venue there after all but only for special performances?

Awesome!

Only note, poor editing by News 12, the manager says, she "does NOT think they are going to..." open it as a bar/have events every night...

Whereas the content says, "Assistant General Manager Liz Berg says the station is probably going to open the venue as a bar that has events every night of the week, though it does not have a permanent name yet."

I read the content and was like, "cool" and then watched the video. It's still great!
