Resto has opened. I looked at menu - no surprise Italian-American. If the food is good this will be a welcomed addition.

Hey GP's - when are you planning to open? Better crack the whip if you're going to make a June opening. We're all getting hungry.

Hello, we are always searching for ways to make our guests experience more pleasurable and offering valet parking will allow our guests that live outside our "neighborhood" to visit us without stressing over parking. "Posh" we are not, although posh can be fun sometimes!

Laico's on Terhune St. has valet parking. I think it's got more to do with how easy or hard it is for patrons to find parking than with how posh the place is. Their menu doesn't look posh at all.

I poked my nose in there the other day. The space seems pretty small. Even with the potential for outdoor seating, I can't see how they're going to recapture the cost of their original investment as well as turn a profit if the space can't accommodate enough tables. Perhaps there's a component of the equation I'm not aware of. I will certainly try to support it when they do finally open.

Right, I go to Canis Minor to get my dog's nails clipped, but I like to bathe her myself, and this requires a self-service bathing facility. It's odd that there's not one in JC. It's about 15 bucks and they clean up the mess for you.

Thanks for the info. I guess the Hamilton Park area must be getting pretty affluent, with a flower shop and a wedding cake shop apparently able to survive there. I was kind of hoping for more every day services. On that same note, it looks like the long-anticipated pet place will NOT have self-serve grooming facilities, which is disappointing. I'll have to continue to go to Clifton to bathe my dog. Not sure how many boutique-y dog treats I'll be needing. But I will definitely be requesting that they start carrying the dog food my dog eats.

I'm glad we're getting some businesses, anyway.

It looks like 3 new stores are coming to Hamilton Square. Sophie Sophia Cakes http://www.sophiesophia.com/, Hound About Town http://houndabouttownjc.com/, and GPs Italian Restaurant in Winter '12 http://gpsrestaurant.com/. They announced the lease signing of GPs on Facebook.

I also read that Hamilton Inn wants to open a brick-oven pizza restaurant in the defunct Vespa dealership on 10th. http://www.jerseycityindependent.com/ ... -vespa-jersey-city-space/

Myth: Pancakes are for breakfast.

Fact: There are no rules when it comes to pancakes.

Insert insensitive, racist Asian food joke here. A pet store would make a killing over there. (Knee slap!)

No, but seriously they would.

There are things I'd rather see (healthy eating place with good fresh ingredients), but if it's indeed a dumpling place, I hope it's better than Ducky's.

They seem to be preparing to open one of the spaces in Hamilton Square (off Hamilton Park). I heard it was going to be a dumpling place. Does anyone know if this is true or have any other information?
