You should see the slabs from the water... I ride my bike by there, have not stopped to take a close look, but I am hoping that the slabs will be covered by some sort of marble facade???? very dumb idea to put that there... just ugly from the side

The two parking lots mentioned above, is that by the picnic area, Towards the Daily News warehouse?

I called the JC Incinerator Authority to notify them that we have 2 "giant slabs of crap" waiting for pickup at LSP...

I believe that the other poster was referring to the fact that these giant slabs of crap do resemble the span-crete of a parking garage in process. sadly, he/she is right on target

sigh... complete blight on that parcel of land. Totally obscures views to a multitude of areas that were previously open and clear.

from Paulus Hook it obscures the vintage beauty of the train terminal.

from the section of park that it sits on, depending where you stand, it can and does block views of the city from many points that were so beautiful to observe from that side of the river previously.

yeah, 9-11 was a horribly thing, but did we need these hideous giant slabs of concrete to memorialize it?

were there no other tasteful, beautiful and powerful options available?

That is the 9-11 memorial not a parking garage.

The two hour parking IS strictly enforced directly outside the CRR Terminal. This prevents Statue / Ellis visitors from parking there and not paying to park in the larger lot behind the train shed.

There are two big lots along Freedom Way, by the playground and by the Nature Center. There is also a very large lot on the South side, down Freedom Way, away from the train terminal.

None of the other lots have strict 2 hour parking, although there may be some sort of regulations--such as get your car out when the park closes at night.

Not sure about the parking where the old railroad terminal is but there is a huge parking lot near the turnpike entrance in the back, there is no time limit there and lots of spaces usually.

The free parking by the CRRNJ Terminal says you have 2 hours and is it enforced? I would like to know if its 2 hours only there, or the entire park?

And if you want to spend some time at the park where can you park?
