You can drop them off at the downtown Home depot. The drop off is just past the entrance to the right.

The environmental thing is to save them and dispose of them on Toxic Waste Day. The tubes & CF's contain mercury which will end up in the groundwater if landfilled improperly or the air if incinerated.

This is no reason not to use them however, the mercury put out by a coal plant to power an incandescent instead is said to be higher than the content of the CF.

I was told to wrap it in some bubble wrap type material, of course ,in case they break. They take it every time.
