Hello do you still have that parking spot? I need a place to park my car. I live on Wayne st between Jersey Ave and barrow st. If you can also recommend a reasonable priced place to privately park my car please email, text or even flat out call me. I'm Jay. 201-757-0981. I'm looking to spend between $65-110 a month. Thanks again.

For the last 5 years I've happily parked my car on the street near Toricos, but I have a desire to get a newer car and I feel off-street parking will be necessary.

Could anyone please recommend a private lot downtown that they are happy with (I live near Torico's so near there would be best)? Also, I don't want it to be valet (I want to take my keys with me). Lastly, I drive my car to work every day, so it needs to be sort of convenient to get to.

Thanks very much in advance.

I heard the Trump Tower parking garage was in the neighborhood of $120 a month.

I have a spot available, for a reasonable price that I'm no longer using in the garage near Newport

Feel free to PM me for further details if interested.

I lived on 2nd at Jersey in 2006-2007. Don't know how much the neighborhood has changed since then, but parking wasn't terrible when we lived in the area. Jersey was cleaned in the morning (8-10am I think) and 1st and 2nd weren't cleaned until the afternoon, so you could generally get a spot on Jersey easily mid morning. I believe Erie was also a different time of day. So you might be parking a block or two away, but as long as you're not trying to move the car at 8am, you'll be fine.

That's a good point about moving after the morning commute, I work part-time and start in the afternoons so I'll probably be able to move my car after the commuters leave. I'll probably see how that goes at first and if I end up working full-time (haha) I'll keep an eye out for reserved spots. Thanks!

Hey everyone -

I'm moving to downtown (Jersey and 1st) next week from Brooklyn. I'm planning on bringing my car sometime in the next month or so. Are there any lots or garages nearby that offer reasonable monthly parking, or am I better off taking my chances on the street? I do plan on switching my license and registration over to NJ so I can pay for the resident permit but if a garage or lot works better I'll do that.

Thanks!

I found that moving my car for street cleaning was fine while I was in grad school and could be around after the 9-5 commuters left and opened up some spots, but that it didn't work once I went back to work full-time (I don't use my car to commute). So you might want to try it and see how it works for you and your schedule/tolerance for driving around looking for a space on the correct side of the street.

I now rent an off-street spot and love the convenience. I rent from an individual, in a small lot not a garage. I actually found my space through the classifieds on JC list but also see posters up around the neighborhood on occasion. When I was looking, I budgeted $150/month and came in well under.

I don't think you need to get a garage. It wouldn't really be worth the cost unless you rarely use your car. There is a garage on Monmouth st and 2nd st that i often see has a sign for rental space. There is also grove pt at marin/grove st and columbus. I would just try and see how the parking is before you spurge on a garage.

I know of a garage spot on 6th Street, off of Brunswick. Really reasonable. PM me.
