Thanks, stupidseven.

I was about to go to White Star myself and inquire.

I hope lots of folks at White Star will buy Bruce a beer - I know I will when I see him there next time.

I got confirmation from some friends that the Bruce that got killed in Belize is not the same Bruce, the one who is a Mets fan and drinks at WhiteStar .

This was confirmed by the owner of the WhiteStar.

But honestly, what are the chances that there are two Bruces from JC that both live in Belize?!

So are you sure that was Bruce Cullerton, hamiltonparkjc?

I am still hoping that was a different Bruce due to the discrepancies (lived on Ambergris Caye vs the mainland, visa vs citizenship), but I admit it does not look good...

On Oct 7, 2010 I met a guy in the White Star bar whose name was Bruce, and who lived in Belize. I remember the date because that was the night when Halladay of the Phillies had a no-hitter in the MLB playoffs. I and Bruce talked that night about the hapless Mets, because we were both Mets fans. Bruce was with a buddy, who was also a Mets fan, and I was with my wife. I really hope it was not him who got killed by the jaguar. He did say he lived close to the WS bar, but also lived in Belize.

The Bruce I met mentioned that he lived in Ambergris Key (Belize) and had to renew his Belize residency every month.

The press reports say that Bruce Cullerton had a Belizean citizenship and lived on the mainland.

I really hope it was not the guy I met that night.

Bruce Cullerton lived across the street from the White Star for many years and a frequent regular at the pub......may he rest in peace.

Jaguar kills American National, Bruce Cullerton

In another tragic story, Bruce Cullerton, the son of the well-known personality, Bridget Cullerton who passed away some months, was to have travelled to the United States today. It didn?t happen because on Monday night, Bruce was sadly killed by Max, the Jaguar that was being kept in captivity by Richard and Carol Foster, film makers who have produced the best documentaries for the National Geographic. Max fled his cage during Hurricane Richard, but why he attacked Bruce is still unknown. News Five?s Jose Sanchez reports.

Jose Sanchez, Reporting

When the eye of Hurricane Richard passed over the Western Highway on Monday night, it uprooted trees at mile twenty-eight, one of which destroyed part of a cage that housed Max, the jaguar. Twenty four hours later, Max would kill Bruce Cullerton, the next door neighbor of the Foster family.

Richard Foster

?Bruce Cullerton has lived next door to us for the last fifteen years. He was a very skilled mechanic and was a great asset to this whole place. We all went to him with our vehicles. He was a great guy and we all liked him a lot so this is a sad day.?

A jaguar that escaped from its cage at a Belize animal rescue center during Hurricane Richard fatally mauled an American whose body was found yesterday, officials said.
Belize's national police identified the victim as Bruce Cullerton, who held US and Belizean citizenship. Authorities found the victim's body near the animal center on Tuesday. They did not say where he lived.
The 4-year-old cat, named Max, escaped when a tree fell on his cage Sunday, the same day the Category 1 hurricane hit the Central American country's Caribbean coast with howling winds and rain.
