Warren Street south of C Columbus is earlier (used to be reserved parking only, but now also Zone 4 permit weekdays). The times for street sweeping on the reserved parking streets have been 6a for a long time.
Warren Street north of C Columbus is 8a-10a. https://www2.municode.com/library/nj/j ... IPASTST_S332-31PARESTEAPU

So you finally got a ticket for parking on the wrong side of Newark Ave. Thanks for letting us know.

I've seen them actively ticketing the morons who park on the wrong side of Newark Ave. Finally!

We could use more signs posted on the block and legible enough to read. And also start ticketing those in the bike lanes. Better check the parking meters as well, they are now in effect till 9pm. Hopefully with this new found money the city will fix the potholes or I will remember that at election time when I hear their stance on the issue during the debates.

how about ticketing double parkers instead of just scaring them off? Street sweeping at that hour is insane.

Politicians and city government in general just don't seem to understand (or more likely care) that these are just the types of niggling little things that voters remember come election time.
When you're watching your budget and get slapped with a $40 ticket, you're going to remember. When you cannot park your car on a Sunday without feeding the meter, you're going to remember. When you see so many little quality-of-life issues that directly impact you - or shine a light on the inequity of how local government governs, you are going to remember. Thanks for the heads up on this.

Not at all surprised. The city needs to be find new forms of revenue to be able to meet the new $15 minimum hourly wage without raising taxes. Stepped up parking enforcement seems like an easy one, but changing hours without bringing attention to the change is definitely not cool. Any chance any of the old signs were not removed? It might be a long shot, but you could take a picture and try to fight the ticket using that as evidence.

Just a warning that I received a street sweeping ticket this morning on Warren st (at Columbus). It used to be no parking from 8am-10am. It was randomly changed to 6am-8am. It must have been changed in the last week or so. It is frustrating as I don't look at a street sign every time I park as I assume the time wouldn't change at random and with no warning/letter from JCParking or the city. Not sure what other streets have been changed, but I would check your signs next time you leave your car parked overnight on the street.
