You can attend your district's police meetings where they hand out crime maps detailing crimes for the past month. You can also look at stats at http://www.njjcpd.org/ click on COMPSTAT Of course there will always be crime that people don't report, and there is no way to track that.

I was wondering the same thing.
I did find this site: http://www.spotcrime.com/. It isn't real time, but it will email you daily crime stats from your selected area. I do feel that it under reports, as well.

I check this page (http://www.nj.com/jjournal-news/index.ssf/news/index.html) for news about Jersey City, but I've long suspected that the Jersey Journal seriously under reports crime downtown.

Is there a police blotter, incident database, or anything for Jersey City?
It seems like there are a lot of crimes and accidents that happen and nobody ever hears about them. The police respond, but there's no report in the papers or online. I think every Jersey City crime and incident should be in a publicly accessible, user-friendly database so that we can accurately monitor trends and demand action when necessary.
