Here is a classic example why it might be time for all who live in apartments - get every one to chip in and install your own cctv camera in your foyers and entry points.
Now that our economy is in a siht and people are losing their jobs, things like this are going to get worse. At our local ATM, we have suspicious looking dudes hanging around and have a scary interest when people go to use them.

Thief punches, robs, throws purse at victim
Friday, January 23, 2009 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER A robber punched a Jersey City woman in the head three times when she entered her building on Duncan Avenue and then threw her purse at her after cleaning it out late Wednesday night, officials said. The 26-year-old woman was in the foyer of her building near West Side Avenue at 11:40 p.m. when the man came up from behind her and punched her in the head twice, reports said. The victim began pressing numerous doorbells and another resident came to the door as the man punched her again and pried the purse away, officials said. The robber ran to the bottom of the stairs and took $80 from the purse before throwing it back at her, reports said. He fled east on Duncan Avenue toward Kennedy Boulevard, reports said. Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call the Jersey City Police Department tipline at (201) 547-JAIL.
