Re: Dollar Buses

Just can't stay away

All you whiny bigots can wait 45 mins in the freezing cold or rain and pay almost DOUBLE for your 'glamourous' (hahahahahahah) bus.

The dollar vans (with all their faults) are fast, reliable, and cost-effective.

When I worked in NYC at a '9-5' job, there was a MAJOR snowstorm. PATH, Port Authourity and busses were
SHUT DOWN. Hotels were all booked and EVERYTHING stopped.....EXCEPT.....

.....THE 'DOLLAR VANS'.

They ran ALL night taking people home from NY side of tunnel...and dropping off just outside of Jersey Side of Tunnel near Post Office in No. Bergen.

I never forget that.
I saw that all the secretaries, and low-level vice presidents and managers where MORE THAN HAPPY to take the vans THEN!

What a bunch of cry-babys.

Why is everyone soooo angry?
YOU all didn't see this coming?

Let's see, now,..... WHY, oh WHY are we, as a nation, facing economic collapse?

WHAT is the gov't spending wasted tax dollars on that could be SLASHED in half...saving BILLIONS every year?

And didnt anyone see the good news in that article?

"...said there are plans for furloughs and layoffs."

YAY! Keep wasting our national and local taxes! MORE CUTS & LAYOFFS! MORE CRIME!

How's that 'CHANGE' going for you all?

So, please tell me how invading Iraq and killing over 1 million Iraqis served anything except Republi-crats plan for domination over oil and the Middle East, since even G.W. Bush admitted Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11.

Weapons of 'mass-destruction'?
None.

Yello-cake and C. Powell?
Lies.

Fulop gallantly riding into the sunset to slay the evil Iraqi-Arabs?

I see you can't refute, deny or prove otherwise, so, you name-call. Pathetic.

It's ALL true.

Vice-Prez of GOLDMAN SACHS ('memba them?....recent bailout!); first to be deployed to IRAQ--which had NOTHING to do with 9/11; and NOW he's a 'revolutionary'?

PHU-LEEEEZE!

also to the above poster:
YOU wrote:

"Fulop was deployed there after leaving his job"

He said many times and it's printed on his flyers and on website...HE CHOSE to leave his job to fight 'terrorism" after 9/11. HIS choice. Terrorism and Iraq are NOT synonomous with 9/11 no matter how many times the media and elected officials purposely confuse the issue.

"Fulop voted his conscience and thus did not receive his bagful of cash."

Hahahah--you're funny!

Yeah, he voted AGAINST a plan to provide jobs in a mostly Black / African-American area of Jersey City.

Where was his conscience when he was working at GOLDMAN SACHS making BAGS OF CASH?

And where was his conscience when he (mistakenly and falsely) ran off to invade, occupy and humiliate Iraq and Iraqis--when even the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT admits Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11.

THIS is from HIS website:

"Prior to serving on the City Council, Steven worked in the private sector focused on equity trading, first with Goldman Sachs and later at Sanford Bernstein. The entirety of his career has been in financial services with the exception of a period in 2002. After the tragic events of 9/11/01, he chose to leave his job at Goldman Sachs to enlist in the United States Marine Corps where he was among the first troops deployed to Iraq."

"Ward E Councilman Steven Fulop voted against the ordinance..."

Isn't it ironic that the 'capitalist, GOLDMAN SACHS, former Vice-Prez, voted AGAINST this development plan (which would CREATE much needed jobs IN an area where TAX-ABATEMENTS are supposed to be used: the UNDER-developed (poor) area of the city.....Greenville!!!!

And how could Richardson ABSTAIN on such an important issue for HER community?

Fakers.

Fulop LIVES in a tax-abated building.
His district IS the upscale, tax-abated area of Jersey City...Newport; glass condos with rooftop pools and gardens, etc.

Why can't the poorer sections get building projects also?

What a double-standard!

"They said their son, an animal lover who once kept 13 cats, is a misguided young man who had been monitored by the FBI since age 16 and was encouraged by an undercover agent to act like a terrorist.

This claim, which others in North Jersey's Muslim community have repeated, irks FBI officials.

Michael Ward, the special agent in charge of the FBI's Newark division, said agents often consult the Muslim community and ask for help in turning young lives around."

READ CAREFULLY:
"monitored by the FBI since age 16 and was encouraged by an undercover agent to act like a terrorist."

COULD THIS BE TRUE? IF SO, PROOF?

And this is an odd response from FBI:

"This claim, which others in North Jersey's Muslim community have repeated, irks FBI officials."

Wow....."IRKS"?

Journal Square.
Twice.

One time locked up with several locks--at the bike park rails at Jnl. Sq. PATH station.

One time locked up in front of a store near Jnl Sq area.

When I reported to police they said...'This is not our district, our jurisdiction ends right there....(POINTING TO JERSEY JOURNAL BUILDING) ...If you want to file a report you have to go down here' --And they gave me address of precinct way far away down Bergen Avenue.

They did--to their credit-- take MY name and cell and did a ride-around to see if they could spot MY bike in near area.

Never got a call.

(One other time when I came back from NYC...only my bicycle seat was stolen. So, I had to walk home WITH the bike--sans the seat at 3:30am.)

The Farmer's market on KENNEDY in the HEIGHTS is a real market...NOT some 1-day, fake, over-priced, boui-gey, outdoor Grove St. market.

REAL plants, REAL fruits and vegetables. OPEN 7 days a week.

Because, people wo live in GREENVILLE, McGINLEY Sq, HEIGHTS, etc. definitely DO go shopping in the Newport area.

The favor is NOT recipricated.

It's a false matrix-y elitist thought process that if you pay through the roof you're getting quality...when in fact, mostly you're been duped and sold a false feeling of superiority--with below standard workmanship, NOT old-world quality--OH--but with a rooftop pool..... and a tax abatement....THANKS CITY COUNCIL!

There ARE condos in McGinley, Heights, Greenville, but you'd never know that from the elitists posting here.

(One poster even suggested the crime is higher in Greenville) Are we talking white collar? I bet NOT.

So have fun staying in debt in your false concrete and fern condos--paying $350,000 STARTING!

Hahahahahah!

We in other areas have 3x's your space and 1/3 your cost!

Greenville will be the NEW Hoboken in about 10 years.....then all the elitists posting here will be gentrifying Greenville.

And to the other poster...YOU have your drab style of writing--I have MINE.

Have fun in your $350,000 box!

Abated taxes for them.
NO school taxes paid.

WORK in NYC mostly. So, much of what they spend goes to NYC.
When do THEY shop in Journal Square?
When do they go to the heights to shop?
When do they travel to GREENVILLE to shop?

Just curious...!

The famalies / homeowners / renters in other areas of JC pay the most of tax burden.

Or, do you think they WORK in NYC....party and buy mostly EVERYTHING in NYC...then come home and maybe drink in some fake waterfront theme "restaurant"?

Not 'left out'. Just noting the exclusion.

The initial post says the METRO had an article on 'JERSEY CITY'. So, in the minds of many posters here Grove and Newport IS Jersey City.

And either this board IS ONLY about 'DOWNTOWN' and carries ONLY 'DOWNTOWN' posts ....or it's not.

However it does decide to cover all areas many times.

Greenville......always forgotten, ignored, etc.
THAT is really where TAX-ABATEMENTS should be used for "condos' with luxury pools -- NOT in the Fulop-esque tax-abted luxury condos of the Financial waterfront -- where developers WANT to develop.

Abatements ahould be used to develop underdeveloped areas.

But whatever,.... enjoy your articles about overpriced condos to warehouse those from OUT OF TOWN.

The article wasn't about JERSEY CITY..it was about selling overpriced condos in 1 SECTION of Jersey City.

Oh...and remember to keep looking up for 'port-a-potties' falling from the sky!

WTF?

Downtown this...Condo that.....!

Jersey City includes all areas -- NOT just Grove and Newport.

Perhaps this was a 'puff' piece to sell tax-abated condos in the corporate and 'hip' areas of JC?

Why no mention of properties near or IN Greenville, Heights, etc?

This is like doing an article on NYC and write ONLY about the Upper East Side.

A few other points to ponder:

ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES?
(Don't trust them 100% people. NOT saying there was foul play. BUT it's very easy--and possible for future elections.)

VOTING HOURS: 2pm -9pm?
(Why this shortened timeframe? Seniors, workers, those leaving area BEFORE 2pm SHOULD be able to VOTE earlier hours.)

A prediction:

The City Council is asking for an almost 25% tax hike for homeowners.

The Council on HIGH will say....

"Hey, good slaves, uh..we mean...people of Jersey City.... we LOVE you...we'll cut our fat, sloppy request of 25%...down to.....um, um, let's say....18%!

The people will CHEER! And once again they will LOVE back the corrupt City Council for they only ripped them off 18% and not 25%!

(This is exactly what happened in NYC.)

Let's see if my prediction is correct!

Cool.

I've been forwarding YOUR flyers and posts to many, many people to help mobilize.

I just want to make sure, that as this hopefully grows, that this is a movement sincere and inclusive of people AND issues.

There are MANY issues coming ahead to battle.

We NEED inclusive actions linking our abused and stolen tax money here in Jersey City to our abused and stolen tax money that goes to endless wars.
as it's ALL connected.

Anything else will fail.

And one more point...if as you say, you ARE being inclusive, perhaps you should also have flyers printed in Spanish?

Flyers for Asian communities? Just a thought.
Since you've reached out to communites it would be easy for you to do!

This is great--but it should be linked to OTHER connected issues.

Racism, the spending on wars, homelessness----and also to other JC corruptions (the recent arrests connected to the 'illegal-body-part-ring" for example.)

And, YOU must outreach to ALL communities...not JUST the 'hipster" Grove community.

Is anyone reaching out to Greenville?

The police and firefighters put THEIR lives on the line EVERY DAY--for US!

They are open--and work 24/7.

They deserve pensions.

The LIBRARIANS deserve pensions.

THE LIBRARIES should STAY OPEN...and EXPAND, NOT CUT services!

The $$ is there! Stop letting yourself be fooled that the $ is NOT there.

btw...how many of YOU know that ON 9/10/2001 the evil Donald Rumsfeld himself admitted that over 2 TRILLION dollars was missing from the FEDERAL BUDGET.

Of course the next day was the horrible "9/11" where scores of firefighters were murdered.

Some of the same firefighters that worked at WTC from 9/11 are the same ones YOU want to take away benifits from.

Look....let's ay they "FOUND" 1/2 of only 1 TRILLION dollars.
Divide THAT up into 50 states.
