No, but Chase is a criminal entity who knowoingly engages in criminal activity such as fraid, money laundering, and gambling against the very people who pay them to represent them. They do business with known terrorists and drug cartels. Their CEO Jamie Dimond is constantly in court trying to defedn their criminal actions. The reason you (and most people) don't know about this is because the mainstream media downplays it. The same is true of Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and HSBC. Open your eyes people. It's not the school teachers asking for a 2% raise we need to worry about. America is screwed.

And I agree; it is a money pit with unimaginable wast and corruption, and unaccountability. However, teachers are NOT to blame, we are not the recipients, we're the victims, even more so than the average taxpayer because we pay the high taxes too. The city and state spend millions on "reform" and middle managment as way too little trickles down into the classroom. I can't believe people aren't storming city hall.

Would you sign a contract that extended your day, week, and working year and threatened what little job security you have? What many fail to understand is that teachers accumulated their credentials and chose this career to educate YOUR children. They don't get rich doing it either; on the contrary actually. Why is it that in difficult economic times we attack civil servants who barely earn enough to survive. Why doesn't anyone go after the corrupt, criminal bankers who continue to do business with mexican drug cartels and known terrorists (see HSBC current events, or Chase's recent billion dollar losses with our tax dollars, or Wells Fargo, also found guilty of money laundering). Stop attacking teachers, they're on your side. They wouldn't have chose this profession if they didn't love working with your children, some teachers even die protecting them. If you want an explanation of where you money is going, I suggest you open the Business section of the NY Times any day of the week and read all about the non-stop Wall Street corruption that you choose to ignore or pretend not to notice. And don't pretend that Wall Street has nothing to do with Main Street. There would be no ecnomic crisis if we punished corruption and taxed the rich fairly. The rich are laughing at us.

Suicide rate in the UK is over 100% higher than the USA for 15 - 24 year olds... Lack of guns don't stop people from voluntarily meeting their maker.

Does getting beaten to death with a length of pipe make you any less dead than if you got shot? Are you willing to trade having a lower chance of getting raped, murdered, robbed just to have a lower statistic of having those things done with a gun? Do you believe we could eradicate guns from the hands of criminals? Will that demand not be met by the black market? Has prohibition of drugs kept them out of the hands of those who want them? Why would it be different for firearms?

BTW: with the exception of NJ and a few other states, it is legal to actually defend yourself with force in this country. Put on one side all the accidental and homicide deaths from firearms on one side. Then compare it to all the people who were saved by being able to defend themselves and their property by using a firearm. The latter will far out weigh the former.

This the reason concealed carry is now the law in 40+ states and stand-your-ground laws (you don't have to run away from a violent criminal) are now in force in 21 states.

Back to the topic of demographics again.. Compare similar communities in Europe, Canada, and the USA. By similar I means same / similar racial makeup and relative income levels and see who has worse rates of violent and property crimes. The results might surprise you.

Of course. They don't want you to know that you just paid .90 to travel less than a mile.

The online statements have been revised to be made easier to understand (only after legislation forced them to). Look, if we want the discount, and who doesn't? we have to deal with these pricks. So, we're accountable to pay them; let's hold them accountable to fair business practices. That's all I am saying.

Doesn't stopping for a receipt defeat the purpose of "ezpass"?

You obvious missed the point of the letter: I was charged double for the 15 trips.

Are you the guy that says: I only drove the train to Auschwitz? Dude, government loves attitudes like that, come on. Wake up!

"You'd be very surprised to learn how little you're entitled to"? WHat does that even mean? After working and paying taxes I am entitled to a fair bridge tolls, perhaps no toll when one considers how much we already pay.

You're lost bro!

EZPASS CRIMINALS
#75
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

THE FOLLOWING WAS SENT TO GOVERNOR CHRISTI, GOVERNOR CUOMO AND SENATOR LAUTENBERG:

LET'S GET ON THIS BASTARDS. THEY ARE RIPPING US ALL OFF EVERY CHANCE THEY GET. SO IS OUR GOVERNMENT WITH THESE TOLLS BUT I AVOID THEM EVERY CHANCE I CAN. I AVOID TOLL ROADS WHEN I CAN.

Dear Senator Lautenberg,

EZPass customers must receive a sales receipt as we do for every other transaction at the time of purchase.
Currently, as a motorist passes through an EZPass lane, an electronic message appears on the digital display which reads "EZPass paid". It should read "EZPass paid (plus the amount paid) $9.50".

This way the motorist will know how much they are being charged at the time of the transaction. We should not have to wait a month for a statement in the mail nor should we have to log into our online accounts daily to make sure we are not being overcharged. This practice will prevent customers from being overcharge for an extended period of time without their knowledge.
I was recently charged $9.50 to cross the Bayonne Bridge 15 times (and once at the Goethals Bridge due to a BB closing) for a total overcharge theft of $76.00, double the amount of the commuter discount I am entitled to of $4.75 per crossing. After speaking to 3 EZPass supervisors it became clear to me this entity is not interested in fair business practice, nor are the worried about losing customers, after all, there is currently no competition. My request to credit my credit card the amount of $76 was denied by each supervisor. Their reason I was denied the credit was that I was supposed to manually change my "plan" online to commuter "Port Authority Staten Island" (PASI) plan.

I do not make the trip during the summer months and in years past when I forgot to change my plan back to the "PASI Commuter Plan" in September it was added to my account automatically once a certain number of crossings had been made. In other words, once it became apparent that this motorist is a commuter, I was given the discount. After further explaining this to the supervisors, each one skillfully denied this practice or stated they were "not aware of this practice". I then pleaded to them in the interest of fair business practice and improvement of their customer service relations but they were not interested.

Again, EZPass customers are entitled to an electronic receipt at the time of each purchase. The amount paid by each motorist must be posted in the lane's digital display as the motorist passes through.

Please take the necessary steps in forcing EZPass into fairer business practices or allow another company to begin operation forcing competition. EZPass is currently a corrupt entity accountable to seemingly no one, not even their customers. We must do something to prevent this criminal behavior. Let's hold EZPass accountable to fair business practices just as they hold us accountable to paying these overpriced, hostage-like ransom called "tolls".

Doing nothing is not an option.
END LETTER

KEEP IN MIND: ALL ADDITIONAL FUNDS COLLECTED BY THIS CRIMINAL ENTITY ARE KEPT BY EZPASS, NOT GIVEN TO PORT AUTHORITY, THE GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY THEY SERVE. EZ PASS SHOULD NOT BE A FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION; PERIOD.

You are clearly misinformed. Get your facts, then make a comment. You're worried about a great adventure ticket when the CEOs of major US banks criminally ran our economy into the ground and then took 16 TRILLION unaccounted for tax dollars to bail their sorry asses out. You're ok with that? You're ok with no one going to jail for that? Here's a name to research: Jamie Dimond. Learn about this man, then get back on JClist.

When I lived in Washington, DC there was a similar type establishment in my neighborhood. It didn't bother me, they were a pretty quiet neighbor as far as I was concerned, but other residents started taking pictures of the customers' license plates after seeing them enter and turned them over to the local police precinct. The police in turn sent letters to the car owners informing them that the establishment was under investigation (no intention of filing charges against the customers though as far as I know). Embarrassed customers stopped visiting and in less than a month or so, the establishment closed it doors. How well doing something like that would work here, I don't know and I don't care about the place either, they don't seem to be bothering anyone.

And great, you may be putting an honest place out of business. BooHoo

How do I know it's Full Service? The girls working there flat out told me. It was later verified by my friend.

Am I a disgruntled customer?
A competitor?
A concerned citizen worried about the spread STDs?

Who the hell cares to figure that out? Why don't you worry about something worth worrying about. Prostitution, if what you say is even true, is the oldest profession in the world and is a victimless crime. Who the hell cares. Worry more about the big banks who are outright criminals stealing your tax dollars, For example: the $16 trillion given free and no questions asked to the criminal psychopaths (Bankers) who engineered this "crisis" and destroyed our economy. Wake up America!

If you pass that test, the next day I want you to do the same thing, only this time, you're gonna actually post something NICE. Something positive. Something that can actually help someone. OK, "nice" may be asking way too much, if you succeed, we'll move to a higher level of civility from there. You can do it, I have faith! Shut the Front Gate
#87
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

I have seen too many people (mostly children) run, skate, ride and walk into front gates left open into the pathway of the sidewalk. Homeowners and renters alike have the legal (and moral) responsibility to keep the sidewalk in front of their homes as safe as possible; as is true after a snowfall. Many I have seen have broken latches preventing them from staying shut. Is it too much trouble to fix? I have a friend who actually chipped a tooth walking into one. I kind of understand how hard it is to fix a rising sidewalk from roots of trees; that's not an easy fix. I continue to trip on those every block. They're a lot fun with sandals on too. We can do better JC. Come on now, be nice.

-Keep all valuables out of sight or not in the car.
-Do not bother investing in a car alarm bc all that does is wake me up. If you are like me you do NOT run outside and investigate the matter NOR do you bother calling police (they won't come anyway for about 2 days).

Re: May 12: How Do We Assess Teachers Forum
#89
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Education is a joke. The media throws around the word "reform" like something has actually changed in the last 200 years. Teaching today is much like it was a 100 years ago. We still stuff 34 kids in a room with 1 ill-equipped teacher paid a peasants wage and expect miracles. Through the years we've seen government legislation, congress signing bills into laws, and millions of dollars thrown into the mix that never reaches our children, classrooms or the teachers. You change nothing, you get no changes. That's pretty damn simple to me. I've been teaching for almost 20 years and all I've seen is a revolving door of "leaders" pretending to know what the #OOPS# they're talking about and never once asking the professionals who have been on the front lines fighting the battle how to "reform" education. The problem is not how to assess teachers, it's how to assess the politians pretending to know how to reform education. Why is that everyone wants to hold teachers "accountable" for society's problem? Education is a community issue but the teachers are the problem, not the parents, or the system. There's no other occupation I know of where we hold the one person accountable for the actions of others. There are entirely too many variables that go into test results to hold the teacher responsible. In fact, there is a library of research supporting that statement but again, no one wants to say it. Poor children with low socio-economic status do worse on standardized tests. No Child Left Behind signed into law in 2000 was supposed to change that but failed miserably. Anyone talking about that and why? No, in fact we continue to test the shit out our poor kids who get nothing from school anymore except how to take tests. If that's how I will be judged, then I'll create the best test-takers you've ever seen. They'll hate school, hate me, hate their parents, and won't leave me with the slightest thirst for knowledge. Amen!
